I'll be honest, the Geocities era looked really cool. I don't mean to sound like one of those kids that say "I WUZ BORNED IN THE WRONG GENERATION" but I'd probably take dial-up being used on home computers over wifi being used on phones owned by every kid age 3 and older, as long as the sites were small and loaded quickly. (i used to have dial-up in the late 2000s and, while things were starting to take longer to load, web developers still had dial-up users in mind so most sites were still relatively small)
I almost wish that this kind of site was still a thing, where wi-fi was still the standard but using old computers became the new fad or something. That sounds really stupid, I know, but I can't be the only one, there have to be others out there...
