THE STORY....
Ken Van Damm and Fearless Frable are similiar in many ways...but took two very diffirent routes to fame. Frable competed in the local VCD in Moosic, PA as a underground wrestler. The VCW had a ring, a arena and a family-based fan base. They then put out tapes locally to promote. Meanwhile...around the same time...in a whole different spectrum...in a cold backyard at night, Ken Van Damm was wrestling as well..in front of a smaller crowd of a more teen oriented fan base. The difference was...although Van Damm showcased the most wrestling talent of everyone competing....he also showcased a underground fighting meanstreak of barbed-wire matches and fire. The EWF consisted of smashed chairs and blood every show. Van Damm and Reckless Youth paved the way for alot of current backyard exhibitionists today. VCW visited the EWF once and had a little card. It was actually current wrestlers from the VCW but wrestled for the EWF on one night...but no Frable. He had already left the VCW and many people were left wondering about a KVD VS Frable match......finally the EWF disbanded...Ken Van Damm went on to make some movies with his friends Mr.Jakk and Rick Johnson, while Reckless moved away. There were "get together" cards about once a year featuring Bill Dreamer and Mr. Jakk..but no real EWF card. This is where problams began...Van Damm eventually opened up what would be the most controversal website in a long time at Geocities under www.geocities.com/vega_kvd and talked freely about everything...including Frable, who he labeled a "overrated backyard wrestler in a fake-ass ring one night"...Well...word spread. Soon, Frable responded on the website and the warfare of the words was on. Both men slammed eachother on the web both professionally and personally. Frable took objection to Van Damm's lifestyle of Scranton night clubs and controversal photos on the site, while Van Damm took objection to Frable's attitude and entire VCW career. Some say KVD was actually jealous of Frable for having wrestled in a real ring...those rumurs quickly dismissed when Van Damm stated that he had recieved offers from the VCW but didn't want to wrestle. So....for a man who professes to be a fighter (Van Damm legitimatly has years of Martial Arts experience) why would he walk away from this fight? IT was finally signed for EWF's return card "It's Time", both men trained hard for the event which lead to a press conference that saw Frable slap Van Damm's face. Then, the hype was on...the website picked up hits every day...flyers spread...Van Damm VS Frable was going to happen!!!! But...it didn't.....and KVD walked out.......the PSAC got wind of the card and shut the EWF down in Moosic, PA......it was postponed and renamed Summerwave 2003....which also never happened because of no location and bad weather. Finally Van Damm walked out and left a verbal tirade to all backyard wrestlers on his site while Frable moved out of the area, to Honesdale, PA. Now......weeks later....it has finally happened. Not trusting the EWF to professionally conduct this thing...we are under new ownership. It will happen...and Van Damm at first said no..but when offered double what he would have made on this match, he agreed. Also...a big point..Van Damm's new movie is being filmed and Frable is in it...will anything happen there?! We will cover this ongoing story as it happens...but finally after months...and years of hype...Van Damm vs Frable will happen Spring of 2004 and will be recorded for a DVD release.
The movies are done and now Ken and Frable look at Spring of 2004 when these men will finally battle in a Backyard Wrestling match...EWF STYLE!!!!
