MARK DRAKTHORN

18/09/01

Hello, and welcome to the first of what may become a regular column in EWCL, I am Mark Drakthorn. This column may be a little like the old DD reports, but different.

I used to be a great wrestler in the 80's, but alas, my skill has deteriorated with age. Anyway, to business.

At the recent Havoc PPV, everyone paid homage to those who had suffered in the World Trade Centre, Pentagon and to a lesser extent the Pittsburgh bombings. The usual silence in respect followed a reassuringly heartwarming speech from the president Cazzo.

1 - 10 rating: 6/10

The Jason Drake/ Ex-Terminator hardcore title match was a welcome change to Ex-Terminator's string of losses, and it ended the small amount of victories that Jason Drake had gotten up. At the end pf that match, the return of Super Trouper was hearalded, and it seemed Ex-T could have persuaded uper Trouper to join. Alas this small light in Creeping Death's tunnel was wrecked when ST turned on Ex-T. And all this in the starting matchup.

Match Rating: 6/10
comments: this could have been a better fight, given the skills of the competitors, alas, it was over before anyone had realised.

Fazzer demanded to know his opponent, resulting in a lot of humour of Saphio's part.

Rating: 6/10

The Exile Vs Punisher matchup was one that i had wanted to see happen for ages, Punisher managed to get a bit of an early lead, but Exile caught up, and equalled his skill.Exile managed to get the pin, but didn't get the 3 count before the 20 mintue time limit ran out.The intervention by the Royal Family, during which Jason Drake "Accidently" hit Joe Johnson with a misplaced chair shot, showed some chinks in the Royal Family's mighty armour.

Match Rating: 4/10
Comments: A very dissapointing matchup, merely beause of the time limit on it.We all know their limits, and they had not enough time to warm up.

The Razorbat ladder match against Joe Johnson and Dan Prohibition sparked up another fued between the two gigantic ego's. This was a really titanic struggle. These two competitors gave it their all. It was the match of the year in my own humble opinion. Dan used the good ol' stop sign, and just afterwards, another intervention concerning the Royal Family, in which Exile accidently smashes Kritical Kondition over the head with a chair. This could spark a huge fued between Joe and KK against Jason Drake and Exile. Dan managed to get the razorbat and use it against Joe Johnson. More chinks appear in the Royal Family's armour.

Match Rating: 10/10
Comment: match of the year, easily. a bitter loss to Joe Johnson, a rather god-like prescence in himself, but a win from another god-like prescence, a person whom could make a great champion, Mr Prohibition.

The Kritical Kondition/Rage matchup was the slightest bit of a bore, although still pretty exciting with all the action going on around it. It is just that the matchup is getting old and repetitive, and in their promo's they are usuaing longer words, it is just a matter of time before one of them mentions the longest, most complicated word ever, and then they are pretty much in the rubbish bin with the feud. Brilliant high-flying moves, from two brilliant performers.

Match Rating 8/10
Comments: I beleive Cazzo will unfortunately milk this feud to death. Kritical Vs Rage has happened before. Try something new possibly?

Overall PPV Rating: 9/10
Comments: One of the best PPV's i have seen so far in my time. It is great to see the EWCL following the path to the place where the gigantic WWF, WCW, ECW and others lie. Superstardom.

Wrestler of the Week: Super Trouper : He made a huge comback, establishing himself into the top set of people. The only drawback is that he challenged someone of less skill than himself.

Loser Of The Week: Jason Drake : He missed a vital chair shot, but also lost his Hardcore title to Ex-Terminator. This man could make it big, but struggles instead, I personally think that the Royal Family is holding him back.

It is time for me to step away from the column for now, may the next time we meet be as joyful.
