Ray Ramone - He talks, you listen

04/09/02

Yes, it's true. Last week Ray Ramone took a well deserved vaction on the lovely island of Hawaii. Beautiful sunets, strong drinks, hot women and great music what more could a man ask for? Well a showing of When Worlds Collide would have been nice. 'No!' I hear you gasp 'Ray didn't miss When Worlds Collide live did he?' Well the answer to that is no. Give Ray a pair of pliers, some duct tape and a watermelon (What? it's hot in Hawaii) and he can get you just about any channel you like. But let us leave the details of my trip aside for the time being and let us talk about the EWCL. So the most anticipated event next to Havoc 2 has passed and did it shine? Well, not as much as we had thought. The matches were awesome and the writers did great jobs on the show no doubt. But there seemed to be a little lack of effort on a lot of peoples behalf. What am I talking about? Everyone pulled their weight I hear you call. Wrong! not everybody did and that is all i'll say about that. We'll call last week lazy week and let us look ahead to this week.

First of all a quick re cap of the recent EWCL. My hottest star of the moment fell a little in my eyes this week. His blatant wanting to drop the EWCL title should have been kept off screen. Sure the ambition they are trying to make Nick posess is great, and we can all tell that Christ and him are gonna be feuding over that title for a while, but by him announcing this made me think of the EWCL title as worthless. Well it isn't. Look at the people who have held it. Sean Corvik, Joe Johnson and Chris Christ to name a few. We could have done without the whole thing about the belt holding him back thing. Maybe it is holding him back but just keep it off the air like that. Macbeth isn't going to get very much recognition this week. He has left after what can only be described as a shirt spell with EWCL. It seems that the challenge of EWCL may have been a little too much for him and he has now retired. The EWCL still wishes him all the best for the future and along and healthy life.

On a different note. Ex-EWCL star Dawg Fase became a proud father yesterday to a bouncing baby boy. Dawg is still held in high regard around the EWCL campus and will certainly not be forgetten. Chris Christ needs to step uo his game if he wants to get over some more. In my eyes Chris is awesome and can do just a little better than he has been. But he is doing an excellent job of holding that Universal title and helped the EWCL stay up whilst other stars did nothing. But just an extra bit of effort and we will all be singing.

At last! He's back. Drake Laps had his short stint at the IWF and he didn't seem to like it there. Why would he when he has been in the EWCL? IWF has a lot of big name talent but it doesn't compare name for name to the EWCL in my eyes. Laps will be bigger than ever this time around as absense does in fact make the heart grow fonder. I can't wait for him this week.

Sean Corvik made his return last week but I couldn't help thinking 'I'd rather see Drake Laps or Exile in that ring'. Corvik doesn't seem to have that old presence he had and I definetly don't want to see him as the main event for a while. There a lot more deserving people than him and I would be pissed to get over looked for him. Same goes for Mystic. So what?

I have decided that this week will be a little different than others. Basically because I don't want to review WWC because it involves IWF and I don't want to bash any of their people. So i'm just gonna carry on talking about the EWCL guys.

Cerberus really impressed us all with his Battle Royal win. Good mark on the card for him and the fed as a whole. I have been in plenty of Battle Royals and they are not easy. Cerberus did good and only big things lie ahead of him. Another person who has impressed me was Aaron Gold. He lasted a very long time in that match and was very impressive throughout. Another kid who I can see going very far in this business.

One man who should really stick to fighting and not talking is Romeo Stone. The second he opened his mouth I could just tell before he was going to stutter or botch up something. He got confused a couple of times and the whole 'i'm pissed off' gimmick is utter crap! Please, do something with him and quick. And, lose that JJ Malone guy. He really is annoying.

Eleven...ah forget it. No, lets not. Eleven, please please please please PLEEEEEEEEEEEEASE get gimmick! And get better! The only one im finding for you write now is Matt 'Sorry about the length' Jones. Get your shit together kid and quit complaining too. All I ever seem to have you do is complain about others. Please, take a week off. Go on vacation (Hawaii is nice) and sort yourself out. Use your name or think of one. Get an idea and a character and use that. This Eleven thing is really really awful!

Did I miss....holy crap yeah! Thorn. Well it seems they have finally sen what i have seen for a while now. Thorn is good. He's geting pushed and nobody can complain. Well actually I can. I don't want to see Thorn as a heel. The EWCL really needed that big heel now and unless Corvik fills those boots Thorn is being wasted. Face is not we want to see right now and i'm afraid it may ruin him. But if he does carry on at his curent rate, keeps that Prime Time title, and works as hard then I see no reason why he would lose fans.

Chris Outcast, errrmmmmm. Keep it up! Nah I don't see Outcast doing much wrong lately. He isn't exactly your number one guy but he still good. Danni Lee is a sexy bitch and she won't stop him from getting a crowd reaction.

No rankings this week. But we will have some predicitions.

tch: Match 1: RPG vs. "Everyone's Hero" Jay Masters: Errrr....RPG

Mini Tournament for match against EWCL Champion Nick Dangerous

Romeo Stone vs. Eleven vs. Drake Laps: Easy easy win for the returning Drake Laps

Round 1 Match B:Aaron Gold vs. Jason Cadey vs. Chris Outcast: All three of these are great. Cadey really impressed me with his first promo and I hope he wasn't a one week wonder. Gold is great and so is Outcast. I'm going for Gold..and so is he!

Round 1 Match C: Cerberus vs. Jerry Campbell vs. Stephen Jackson: Cerberus to pip it

Match: Extreme Title Johnathan Cable(c) vs. Ex-Terminator: Pfft, this has got to be the time of the night when you go and get a drink or take a piss. Ex-Terminator? What...why...w...I jsut dont get it. Big fat slob hasn't done anything for this fed for months and gets a title shot returning week? He even said that he wouldn't have fought if it wasn't for the title. Johnathan Cable to win becasue I want him to so he better had!

Round 2: Winner A vs. Winner B vs. Winner C: Im guessin this is going to be Laps vs Gold vs Cerberus and I see Laps going on to kick the crap out of Nick.

Match: Thorn(c) vs. Cazzo: Cazzo could be rusty. Thorn isn't. Thorn to win

First Main Event: Non-title Chris Christ(c) vs. Sean Corvik/Mystic: I hope Christ but I think the other two. Corvik and Mystic

Second Main Event: EWCL title Nick Dangerous(c) vs. Winner Round 2: Drake Laps to be the contestant in this match and Drake to win it and become new EWCL champion!

That's me done for the week. Hit me with feedback all you want as I do check the OOC board. Peace friends,

Ray
