The EWA Spoiler - Edition #40 Monday, May 15th, 2000.
Welcome fans to another edition of the EWA Spoiler. Today, I'm going to take a look at the 3 of the matches in the current line-up for EWA No Fear, which takes place this Sunday exclusively on Pay-Per-View! At the current moment, the card has not been fully scheduled. However, with one more episode of EWA Tuesday Night Heat coming up tomorrow night, all questions should be answered soon enough! But with that said, let's get going!
["Assent to Armageddon" EWA International Title Match] "The Cornerstone" Dino Delsante vs. Nomad
Written in 'Stone or not, the winner of this match will go down as the GREATEST EWA International Champion of all time! When I think of the EWA International Title, I think about 2 eras: Nomad's old-school days with the gold, and Dino Delsante's current reign. Nomad has a legitimate claim to being one of the most significant International Champions ever! I was around to witness this man in action as the champ, and there's no doubt that his Gothic outward appearance combined with his unique style in the ring made for an unmatchable formula when it came to being a stellar champion. Nomad feels that the International belt is HIS TITLE! But why is it that it's currently around the waist of "The Cornerstone" Dino Delsante? Dino Delsante is 100% underrated! People don't take him as a threat because of his traditional style. He doesn't live to dazzle the fans with corkscrew hurraconranas or summersault plaunchas, but ya know what? If you need someone to dislocate your knees in 3 places and give you a cauliflower ear, he's your man! "The Cornerstone" prides himself on being the foundation that the EWA is built upon! He is a great role model and ambassador of this sport. And believe it or not� I think that's going to be his downfall in this unique combination of a Ladder and Hell in a Cell match!
My Prediction
Nomad will once again become the EWA International Champion! Dino has his sites set on facing Serial Thrylla in his own "Cornerstone Invitational" and he longs to be appreciated. I think that a loss to Nomad won't hurt him as much as it helps him. All "The Cornerstone" needs is a slap in the face from Mother Reality! He needs the motivation to move on with his career� and win or loss, I think this PPV will help give him a motivational kick-start!
[4-Way EWA Heavyweight Championship Match] Cody Covington vs. Chris Jericho vs. The Hustler vs. Fallen Angel
You want to talk about an unpredictable situation over a very elusive piece of gold? That's what we've got right here! When Tom Stone vacated the EWA World Heavyweight Title in a controversial match between Covington and The Hustler, I think it was a very important re-starting point in the EWA Title's history. Right now, we've got 4 young, energetic, dedicated and worthy men about to battle for something that will make their careers significant! Only 2 of the men in this match have held the belt before (Covington & The Hustler) but all 4 men are hungrier than ever! For The Hustler, I think this is his chance to prove to Tom Stone that his decision to take the belt away from him was bogus! The Hustler's motivational fuel in this match will be knowing that he can walk up to Stone, shove the belt in his face and say " Take it from me this time, buddy! I dare you!" For "Crystal Clear" Cody Covington, he needs this reign to wipe the blemish that he calls 'an EWA Heavyweight Title reign' off of his resume! Covington is not happy that he is the shortest reigning EWA Champion of all time, and he's going to do everything he can to prove to the world that he is championship material! Now, we move on to the hungry rookies with sparkles in their eyes. "The Franchise" Chris Jericho is a fairly green rookie, but there's no doubt that he's done more in 5 months than many people have done in 3 years! I think this match is a win-win situation for him. He might get lucky and actually walk out Champion, but he doesn't, he can always use this match as a forum to gain attention and say to the world "I'm a contender, damnit! And I will never E-E-E-Ever be a midcarder, AGAIN!" And finally, we have Fallen Angel� a man who is in a similar situation to Chris Jericho's. He's longing to be respected for all his work in the EWA, and this is his opportunity to prove to everyone that he can perform at this level!
My Prediction
Your NEW Extreme Wrestling Association CHAMPION OF THE WOOOORLD�. That's right, Fallen Angel! Why? Because no one has been busting their ass as long as this guy has to simply gain respect, and finally� I truly think this is his time in the spotlight!
["I RESPECT YOU" Match] Chandler vs. Nick Diamante
This match� simply put, should be enormous! Think of the stipulations here! One of these 2 men will be forced to submit for the first time in their long and illustrious careers! Not only submit� but verbally admit that they RESPECT the other! Just like an "I QUIT" Match, a live microphone will be put into play and both men will fight to incapacitate their opponent long enough so they can grab the mic, and ask the question - "Do you respect me?" Fans, I have a bad feeling about this one. With the egos involved in this match, how will it be possible for both men to continue their respective careers after all is said and done? Come on, think about it! Chandler returned to the EWA with the intention of taking out Nick Diamante once and for all! What happens this Sunday if Chandler can't get the job done? What if he is forced to say "I RESPECT YOU, NICK!" in front of his own family and friends in Shreveport, Louisiana? What about Nick Diamante? The effects that Chandler's return has had on Diamante are already visually apparent. Just over a month ago, this man was the most egotistical man on the EWA roster! He ran the 3DWA side-by-side with "The Cornerstone" Dino Delsante, and he was on top of the EWA within The 3 Dimensions of Wrestling. But now, look at him� no gold can be seen� no glitz, no glory� just HATE! OBSESSION! Nothing more! But is that really a negative thing?
My Prediction
Nick Diamante will win this match! I think Diamante still has a few tricks up his sleeves, and I think everything seems to be going too well for Chandler. Just like Dino Delsante, Nick Diamante really needs a kick in the butt as motivation to get him to realize that he can be the NUMBER ONE man in the EWA! Everyone talks about Chandler's "hometown advantage" and performing in front of his friends and family? I don't think it's an advantage at all. One thing is for sure! This match will kill the ever-going feud between Chandler and Diamante. And I just hope no one gets hurt� not only physically� but especially mentally.
All in all, fans� I know it seems like we say this every month around this time, but I truly feel that EWA No Fear will set the standard for Pay Per View events, not only here in the Extreme Wrestling Association, but all around the wrestling world. Memorize the date� Sunday, May 21st, 2000� NO FEAR from the EWA! Ask for it by name, and by God� MAKE SURE YOU TUNE IN! Who's going to end up the GREATEST EWA International Champ? Which man will take the VACATED EWA World Heavyweight gold? Jesus Christ� WHAT'S GOING TO HAPPEN BETWEEN CHANDLER AND DIAMANTE? How will you ever know if you don't order?
