Career Outline: Johnny Rage and Rick Ramos, the Regulators, were brought into the EWA in the summer of 1998, by DMX, to be in his stable, Hardcore Heaven. After an uneventful run as members of the stable, The Regulators were fired by DMX, and went out on their own. After making some headway in the tag division, they made a rough decision. Around that time, Serial Thrylla was taking the EWA by storm..and around that time, he felt he was being screwed by the EWA brass, and lead a walkout. The Regulators made the tough decision and left the EWA, along with several others. This was a decision that could have had them blackballed from the sport. Fortunatly for all parties involved, the matter was resolved, and all the workers returned. Upon the return, it was realized that the stable known as DX was running rampant in the EWA. So Thrylla created a force to oppose them. This force was known as Team Ballz. Featuring Rage, Ramos, and a young rookie named Chandler, they prepared to battle Team DX. In what is known as one of the EWA's most talked about matches, Team DX scored the pin on Team Ballz following a Rock Bottom on Rage at the Rage in a Cage PPV. Not to be detured, The Regulators set their sights on Tag Gold, and, at Hellacious Halloween in late October, Rage and Ramos won a 4 corners match for the titles, when Ramos pinned Sting. The taste of victory was shot lived however, as The Regs dropped the titles 18 days later...only to win them back almost a month later at the Thryll to Kill PPV with a win over old friend Chandler, and his partner Cromwell. This reign would go on for nearly 3 months, as The Regulators took on all comers. Around this time, Revolution X was rising to power, culminating at the Full Revolution PPV, when RX literally took over the EWA. Once again, it was clear a crew had to come out...and stop these men. This time, it wouldn't be Team Ballz. Thrylla was retired. Chandler was on hiatus. All that was left was Rage and Ramos...so they got recruiting. They brought in Nomad. They brought in El Conejo del Veulo. And, they brought in La Parka. They were Team Ballz 2000. They were not nearly as good as their predecessors, because of a couple weak links (which two members of the 5 aren't in the hall of fame? Right...them). Rev~X was taken out however, at Revenge of Stone Hedge, which saw the return of Serial Thrylla. With evil vanquished, for the time being, Rage and Ramos sought quest of their third tag title reign...so they thought. As it turned out, the Regs were entering the toughest phase of their careers. Quite simply, they couldn't beat anyone. Things got so bad, Rage retired, naming a new partner in Duane Gill. The New Regulators Era was as successful as Dave Carter's reign as president of the FCA...ie, not very. It would all come full circle however, at the April 20th Tuesday Night Heat. The Orignal Regulators returned to help an injured Thrylla and defeated then tag champs Imminant Danger (the team with the best won-loss record against the Regs in any fed) only to have the match thrown out by Tom Stone. After that, the frustration kept building and building...they could not seem to have anything go their way...so On May 5, a day of infamy, The Regulators snapped. They performed one of the most heinous attacks in wrestling history. One of the most violent, vicious, and vile moments in the storied past of the EWA. Rage and Ramos crossed every boundry that night...and it led to Imminant Danger leaving the EWA, vacating the titles. Weeks later, at the finals of a tourny, Rage and Ramos pinned The Gemini, Pollux and Castor Troy, for the gold...their third title reign overall. No tag team has more then one. Eventually, weeks after the win, The Regulators "sold out" Tom Stone, and left to explore oppertunities.
