Shuffle the cards as you would and cut them, three times. Gather them up moving from left to right using your left hand. The left hand is closest to your heart. If you are reading for someone else, have them cut them. Either yourself or the seeker can shuffle.
Draw three cards from the top of the deck and lay them down using the first card in the position of the past on the far left, the second card as the present, in the center and the third card as one indicating the future on the far right. In the event that one card falls out, I generally lay it aside, thinking it might have a further message for you. I do not turn that card over until all the rest have been read.
The three cards are chosen can give possible combination of seven separate meanings. The cards can be assessed individually first (one at a time) then in twos (1st and 2nd card, then 2nd and 3rd card, and last 1st and 3rd card) then altogether giving a total of seven combinations
Look the cards over and let them speak to you. Make a special note of the suits. This will show you the speed with which situations have developed. Next look at the numbers. Keep in mind, the house of the zodiac, and it's ruler. This will give you an idea of what the situation is about.
Lay the cards down from the left to the right and read them from the same direction. The reasoning for this, is, the left side is closest to one's heart. The lst card on the left is in the past position. Make a note of the suit with in each placement, the house of the zodiac it is placed in and what planet is it's ruler. The number is also very important.
You need to know that clubs are very fast moving: hearts are smooth: spades are a dead stop: and last but not least diamonds are very slow. Make a note of which direction the face card is facing, if there is a face card. Towards another card shows interest, facing away shows the person is apt to be avoiding or walking away.
Another thought In the event a card falls out while shuffling or dealing, set it aside as it may have special significance somehow. It may indicate a person or even a time, again, of course depending on the suit.
The First Card
This card speaks of the past and of events that might have lead up to the situation that has evolved. This placement is for reflecting on your own part in what is happening to you now. It indicates who or what was responsible for what happened in the past
If this card is a club, it is an event that developed quickly, with almost a feeling of rage or a raging fire.. A heart, indicates that things were moving smoothly, not fast, not slow, Were this card, a diamond, it would show a very slow plodding movement, and almost drive you crazy to get going, kind of thing. Lastly, were it a spade, it would indicate something that came to a screeching halt, like running into a brick wall
The Second Card
This placement speaks of the present or the now in your life. It determines the events that are shaping up now with in your current environment. It also shows how fast or slow things are happening, depending on the suit.
Does it deal with matters of the heart and home (hearts)? Or is it having to do with work and career goals (clubs)? Is the issue money security or possessions (diamonds)? Lastly, could it be deceit, obstacles and worries (spades)?
The Third Card
The last card in the draw shows the future if you continue on your present path. Bare in mind the future is not set in stone. You have the power within yourself to make the changes needed in your life. Over all, it is up to you to make what ever changes are needed to gear the future to what you want.
