"I take care of the things I have worked to get. Sometimes I get a little paranoid or greedy and think that I have to protect my money and my position from others who might try to take what is mine. Other times I can look at myself more gently and feel proud of how skilled I am at collecting and utilizing the resources I need.
"I do think it's a lot easier to accumulate material comforts before taking up self-improvement projects. `god helps those who help themselves.' I always say. Still, being miserly isn't exactly an impetus for personal development. Just look at that Ebenezer Scrooge fellow Charles Dickens made famous.
"On the other hand, my key phrase - feeling truly wealthy - does refer to a subjective attitude and an inner evaluation." |
