EkalVidyalaya Marathon or Ekal Marathon for short is a program which provides great opportunity for personal development and achievement while helping a noble cause. The program provides comprehensive endurance training for the participants and pays for the registration costs for the Silicon Valley Marathon scheduled on October 30th 2005. In exchange for the training and support you help raise valuable funds for the EkalVidyalaya Foundation and give the gift of education.

What is EkalVidyalaya?: Ekal Vidyalaya is a unique concept that is bringing non-formal education to the doorstep of a village, where children are offered five years of schooling free. Ekal Vidyalaya Foundation is committed to the eradication of illiteracy from remote and tribal regions of India. Ekal Marathon's Commitment:

  • Ekal Marathon is committed to provide comprehensive training, support and advise of any kind to ensure runners achieve their Marathon goal.
  • Pay for the race registration
  • Travel/accommodation for out of town runners*.
  • Professional advise, tips and techniques on injury prevention, nutrition and other related topics.
  • Support and encouragement through out fund-raising and training period.

Your Commitment:

  • Each participant will raise a minimum of $1500 for EVF. Rest assured that we will keep our program expenses to a minimum and remaining amount goes towards EkalVidyalaya schools. The programs provides you with all the help you need to raise funds.
  • The training program is a 5 to 6 months comprehensive program and requires your personal commitment of about 6-8 hours every week.
  • The program requires you to be in good general health and be able to walk or run at any pace for 2 miles.
  • Pay $50 registration fees to register.
