| The world is at peace. Goku and his wife Chi-chi live at their home with their young son Gohan. (who also possess a tail just like Goku had when he was a child) But someone from outer space lands on earth and shatters the peace. His name is Radditz and he claims to be Goku's brother. Radditz says that he and Goku are of the race called Saiyan a ruthless bunch who only want to fight and conquer other planets. He also says that Goku was sent to Earth to eliminate all living things but has seem to forgotten his mission due to an injury he got as a child. Radditz expects Goku to complete his mission. So Goku has no other choice than to team up with his worst enemy Piccolo. They fight Radditz but it ends up that Goku has to sacrifice his life for Radditz to be defeated. While Radditz lied on the ground dying he revealed that two more powerful Saiyan (Vegeta and Nappa) are heading to Earth.
In the after-life Goku learns that if he wants to be powerful enough to defeat the two Saiyans coming to Earth he must travel the furthest path of Heaven, to train under a martial artist names Lord Kaiou. Meanwhile Gohan starts training with Piccolo starts to love Gohan since Gohan treats him like a normal person no matter what Piccolo puts him through. Also Goku's friends Kuririn, Yamcha, Yajirobe, Tenshinhan, and Chaozu are training with Kami who is the god of the earth.
One year after Goku's death the two Saiyan's arrvive on Earth. The battle is intense leaving Yamcha, Tenshinhan, Chauzu, and Piccolo all dead. But with Piccolo's death the Dragon Balls now disappear. Piccolo also had the noblest death since he sarifices his life to save Gohan from one of Nappa's brutal attacks. Finally Goku arrives at the battle and just in time to save Gohan and Kuririn and feeds them each half a senzu seed. Goku's trainng with Lord Kaiou had made him really powerful and he proves to be a handful for Nappa. Since Goku practically humiliated Nappa, Vegeta kills him and now starts a one-on-one battle between Goku and Vegeta. The battle is intense leaving both Vegeta and goku lying on the floor. Vegeta signals for his spacepod to come pick him up but Kuririn grabs Yajirobe's sword (which was used to cut Vegeta's tail off) and is about to deliver the final blow to Vegeta. Goku asks Kuririn to show Vegeta mercy and he obliges. Vegeta gets into his spacepod and blasts off leaving Goku, Gohan, and Kuririn with a hard-won victory.
