WHEN JEFF COMES HOME
When Jeff Comes Home

Kidnapped from a roadside rest stop by a man named Ray, sixteen-year-old Jeff has spent the past two and a half years locked in a dark basement. He was whipped, mentally abused and forced to have sex with his captor if he wanted to eat. Jeff still feels shell-shocked when his kidnapper releases him to return to his old life. When he finds his family, he just can't fit in. After struggling to survive for such a long time, Jeff feels detached and isolated form other people, especially the ones he loves. He finds himself unable to talk about his experiences, and the more questions people ask, the worse it gets. No one will ever understand how horribly Jeff was treated and why he behaved as he did - not his friends, not his family, and not the FBI agent who worked on the case. Jeff isn't the same person he was two years ago, and he knows he will never will be again. I didn't like this book at all. It was way too dark and disturbing. I couldn't finish it.
