A prep-school student returns home one winter weekend and finds his family on the verge of imploding. His father tries to douse his unhappiness with booze and infidelity while his mother searches for answers in self-help books. The experimentation and permissiveness that defined the times lead to ruin as the family's surroundings literally turn to ice during a freakish storm. This was a movie I liked much more when I was younger; now I just find it boring. Ironically, despite the fact that the movie is rated "R", very little nudity is actually seen. Sexuality is mostly talked about in this film. Overall, you might enjoy this movie if you saw it once.
