GUEST STARRING HELEN SLATER AS LARA!!!

Clark learns that Kara is in Washington searching for the crystal. His cousin is captured after she breaks into the lab and sedated with a kryptonite-infused truth serum. The serum causes her to relive a prior trip to Earth when she followed Clarks biological mother, Lara to the Kent farm. Clark arrives in time to save her, but after searing the machine with heat vision, he also falls victim to the serum and sees what Kara sees: his mother. I thought this was a well written episode and it was most certainly better than last week's episode. I thought it was well directed and had good acting. I like the way their writing Kara making her complex and I think the actress, Laura Vandervoort, is doing a great job portraying her. I've heard that some people say that Jimmy is underused, but I don't think so. You have to remember that he's a secondary character, so naturally he's not going to be front and center a lot. Anyway, Aaron Ashmore, he actor who plays him, is very good at bringing in comic relief to the show while at the same time, making Jimmy useful in terms of moving the episode forward. John Glover and Michael Rosenbaum weren't in the episode much, but what screen time they had, they made good use of. The two actors are really good at making Lionel and Lex three-dimensional. Overall, this was a good episode that featured lots of character development. It even had some somber moments, which was nice.
