HYPNOTIC

GUEST STARRING JAMES MARSTERS AS BRAINIAC!!!

Hypnotic Finally Brainiac is back! Lex discovers that Professor Milton Fine, (A. K. A. Brainiac) is in Honduras and sets out to confront him. Clark meets a beautiful seductress named Simone who uses a magical charm to make people succumb to her every wish. An enchanted Clark reveals his powers to Simone, who seizes the opportunity and demands that Clark kill Lex. I really enjoyed this episode the first time around, but after that it began to deteriorate. Don't get me wrong: it's a fun episode and I like enjoy freak-of-the-week episodes, but this one gets old fast. However, one thing I did like about the episode was the fact that it wasnt red kryptonite that made Clark abnormal, but a magic crystal. Not only that, but it's nice to see Tom not playing his usual Clark-self once in a while. Clark and Lana do break up, but since this has been done before, they will get back together at some point. The only good scene Tom has is the one where Clark and Simone are in the barn, for it's the actual erotic scene. Due to the CWs censorship restrictions on showing sexual nudity, the dialogue should have been changed since the actors only strip to their underwear. Anyway, it was the aftermath of that scene that had me, for the first time, feeling sorry for Lana. What saved the episode from being one of those you watch only once was the scenes between Professor Fine and Lex. Both James and Michael have great chemistry together and I would like to see more scenes between them in the future. Brainiac has turned into one of my favorite villains and its all thanks to James. I also think Lois wasn't needed at all, for it was Chloe who had to save Clark. To wrap this review up, I'm going to say that the actors who gave the best performances were James Marsters, Michael Rosenbaum, Alison Mack and Kristin Kreuk.
