Clark hears the voice of his biological mother, Lara, calling for help from Karas crystal and decides to release her, despite Jor-Els warnings. Lara and Clark reunite and she gives him Jor-Els ring, which contains blue kryptonite. As Clark puts it on, he realizes Zor-El manipulated the whole thing and that blue kryptonite strips him of his powers, enabling Zor-El to take control of the Fortress of Solitude. This was a decent episode. It was nice to see a different type of kryptonite. I noticed that they resurrected Julian Luthor, but it would have been better if they simply had Lucas Luthor return. I know he is till alive and he isn't dead, which means they don't have to come up with a lame resurrection cover-up. It would also be nice to see Lucas again and even if he doesn't get seen, he should be mentioned.
