In 1952 Los Angeles, Myra Shumway, an introspective magician's assistant realizes her true powers while adrift on a fanciful journey through rural Mexico, where she's being pursued by a gritty private investigator named Alex Ross. He's been hired by her eccentric millionaire fiancé, Cliff Wyatt to find Myra and bring her back to the United States. A curious blend of outlandish magical realism and the standard "gumshoe" nostalgia. This movie, which I turned off after almost an hour, was really borring.
