Robinson Crusoe survives a shipwreck in the 1650s and washes up on an island. Alone and isolated, Crusoe must find a way to be at peace with himself and tap into his reserves of courage. What I do know is that Daniel Defoe was inspired by the life of a real castaway named Alexander Selkirk, who went to sea and was put ashore on a deserted island in the Pacific Ocean for a few years. Even though Selkirk was eventually rescued, he was put ashore upon request. Defoe heard of Selkirk's adventure and interviewed him. He went on to write a fictional account of the man's years on the uninhabited island. This was a decent movie for it was entertaining.
