An excellent and highly original film. Despite having recently presided over a very successful Halloween, Jack Skellington, (a. k. a. The Pumpkin King,) is bored with his job and feels that life in Halloweenland lacks meaning. Then he stumbles upon Christmastown and promptly decides to make the holiday his own. This is the movie Tim Burton had always wanted to do and, after many years, he was finally was able to do it. Despite the fact that he didn't direct the film, he was given a lot of the credit and had complete creative control over it. Tim Burton wouldn't do another movie like this until Corpse Bride. Finally, The Nightmare Before Christmas would be classified as cult.
