Fifteen-year-old Moonie Pottie dreams of leaving her sheltered, Nova Scotia community to move to New York City. Her teacher, the only person in town who sees Moonie's potential, arranges a scholarship to a Manhattan arts school - and her parents promptly scotch the idea. But when high-spirited Lou Benzoa moves in next door, the two girls hatch an escape plan to exit New Waterford for good. I fast-forward through the entire movie. There were no redeeming qualities in it whatsoever.
