The Second World War is raging in Europe, but in neutral Sweden, fifteen-year-old Stig finds himself falling in love with his thirty-seven-year-old teacher, Viola. Viola is vulnerable (ignored as she is by her boozing husband) and plunges headlong into the affair. But when Stig begins to court a girl his own age who's also attracted to him, Viola unexpectedly flips out. There is nothing redeeming about this film.
