Contining from where Julie left off, the final part of the trilogy begins with Julie drawing upon her knowledge of wolf behavior, Eskimo culture, and Alaska starting off with Kapu, the splendid male pup Julie nursed back to life in the previous book. This book chronicles six years in the life of the alpha male and his pack. The book is divided into three parts that suit the episodic plotting style; the strongest segment occurs in the middle when a lone female infected with rabies joins the pack, threatening the lives of its members. Those who have enjoyed Julie's story thus far will want to read this latest encounter in which she grows up, attends college, and comes full circle back to the tundra, this time to study her beloved wolves with her new husband, Peter Sugluk. Since I found this book in the juvenile section of the library, I was a little surprised by the adult content of it. The sexual content is even more down in this installment. Also, what was the point of refering to her as "Willow Pup Julie?" Overall, a terrible read. This book had no point and was a compelte waste of time. From the first book, it was all downhill.
