John Schneider was born in 1954 in Snailville, Georgia. Or so the legend goes, when John auditioned for the role of Bo Duke on the popular TV series The Dukes Of Hazzard. The producers were looking for a twenty-four-year-old from the South. At the time, John (born in 1960) was only eighteen years old and hailed from Mt. Kisco, New York. John's ruse worked, however; and he got the role of the blond Duke cousin, a role that made him famous. After The Dukes Of Hazzard, John launched a very successful country music career. He still sings in concerts, such as at the Memorial Day Concert at the Capitol in Washington, D.C. John also was the co-founder of the Children's Miracle Network which holds telethons every year to help children's hospitals. He's also a strong supporter of family-oriented programming. John Schneider left Smallville following Jonathan Kent's passing in the show's 100th episode, Reckoning from Season Five. However, the character made a few appearances later in the season.
