In 2003, Canada simultaneously decriminalized marijuana and legalized gay marriage making the often derided country a sudden beacon of liberal cool. The film also dealt with AWOL American soldiers escaping to Canada to get away from the War in Iraq. This was a decent movie. I was more interesting in the pot issue that on the other two issues. Canada, despite trying be its own country, is greatly influenced by the United States, which had no qualms about interfering with another sovereign nation's internal affairs. Personally, I think the U. S. should stay out of the Canadian government, although I do understand them interfering about the AWOL soldiers.
