Adapted from the award-winning novels by Ursula K. Le Guin, this epic fantasy follows the adventures of Ged, a rebellious youth destined to become the greatest sorcerer the mystical world of Earthsea has ever known. When Ged discovers the extent of his magical powers, he seeks to master the ancient arts - and his own impulses as well. This is an entertaining TV show that is similar to The Lord Of The Rings films. Shawn Ashmore and Kristin Kreuk each do a fine job in their roles. I'm most familiar with Kristin through the hit TV show Smallville, where she plays Lana Lang, a terribly underwriten character (not her fault), but here here preformance is much better making the miniseries decent. Shawn, who's well known for being in the X-Men movies as Bobby Drake (A. K. A. Iceman), also delivers a solid preformance. Although, I've never read her books, I take it that this movie is an adaptation of the first book, A Wizard Of Earthsea, but I could always be wrong. But don't sit hear at read what I've got to say, rent the series and judge for yorself.
