DOWNFALL

The last ten days of Adolf Hitler and his Nazi regime are seen through the eyes of a young woman in his employ in this historical drama from Germany. In 2002, the gripping documentary Blind Spot: Hitler's Secretary, introduced audiences to the German dictator's stenographer, Traudl Junge, by letting her tell her own story. Now director Oliver Hirschbiegel brings Junge to life in this Oscar-nominated drama. Painstakingly realistic, Downfall takes Junge's point of view to recreate Hitler's last days in his Berlin bunker. This movie is from the Nazi's perspective, which has never been done before and I was very interested in Doctor Schenck and what happened to him.
