BOY OF THE STREETS
Boy Of The Streets

When tough-talking tenement teen Chuck Brennan falls in love with a beautiful and intelligent girl who spends most of her time taking care of her ailing mother. He takes a job as an assistant to powerful gangster Blackie Davis to help make her life a little better. But the deeper Chuck sinks into the dizzying world of crime, the closer he gets to mortal danger. First off, Im going to say that the dialogue was hard to understand. Besides that, the movie, for the most part, was enjoyable, if mediocre. I tend not to like pre-1970s films, but this one actually wasnt that bad. The acting was actually pretty good for an old movie, but the writing could have been better. The reason for this mainly is that I never understood the final scene. As far as the directing went, I would say that it was pretty decent; it might not have been great, but it wasnt horrible either. Basically, the film was better than I expected given its age.
