This is probably Tim Burton's first film. As an inexperienced director at Disney, he had absolutly no control. He finally left Disney (Thank God) and went on to make Beetlejuice, a much better film, which lead him to make Batman. Anyway, this film is not Tim Burton style. I only saw it because I am a die-hard Tim Burton fan and it's terrible. I should have either turned it off. However, making the genie dark, like an anti-hero, was a ice touch.
