This film tells the sweet and gently ironic story of Lati, the daughter of the village prostitute who is desperately trying to seek an education and not follow the same path as her mother, Rajani. There is also the unfolding of her confrontation with Natabar, a lecherous businessman with an eye for young girls. Rajani is delighted that such a powerful man would take an interest in her still-virginal daughter, who is appalled by these events and begs the local school teacher for help. There were no redeeming qualities in this movie whatsoever. I turned it off after twenty minutes.
