Fanfiction - fan authored stories that occur outside of the spectrum of the original story...these can include non-existant characters, cross-overs, parodies, etc.

Citrus Ratings - ratings given to stories that include sexually orientated acts:
          -
Lime: non-graphic sex, similar to an R rated movie.
          -
Lemon : graphic sex, anything from                                              romance novel's to NC-17 to Pornography.

Yaoi - Homosexual male acts that involve sex or sexually orientated context.  Homosexual romance with no real sex is referred to as Shonen-ai.

Yuri - Homosexual female acts that involve sex or acts related thereto...etc.  Romance of this sort is referred to as Shoujo-ai.

Hentai - Pornographic animation, most often adults only.  Also a term used to describe a very perverse person.  Can be just sex, but can also include tentacles, fantasy situations, etc.  (La Blue Girl, Urotsukidoji, Bondage Faries)

Ecchi - Perverse material, but nothing as harsh as hentai.  (Golden Boy)

G - NC-17 ratings -
          
G : good wholesome family fun.  Disney, sugary                           cuteness, etc.  No adult connotations.
          
PG : still nothing bad, but envolving more serious things               such as death, angst, etc.
          
PG-13 : ages 13 and up.  Deals with heavy romance,                  some adult comedy, very lesser lime situations, and mild             profanity.
         
R : adult situations, limes, adult language and content,                suicide, extreme violence, profanity.
          
NC-17 : ANYTHING GOES.  Sex, lemons, murder,                        graphic depictions of violence and gore, more sex.  You              get the picture.

Commonly used Japanese words/phrases:

Baka - idiot
Kuso - crap (an exclamation)
Shimatta - shit (slightly harsher than the first)
Nani? - what?...variants would be "Nani yo?" (female), and "Nande yo?" (male, and rude)
also "Nan demo nai!" ("Nothing's wrong!)
Miko - a japanese priestess of the Shinto faith.
Greetings - "Konnichiwa" = "Hello" or "Good Afternoon", "Ohayo" = "Morninng!" or "Ohayo Gonzaimasu" = "Good Morning", "Konbanwa" = "Good Evening.", Oyasumi Nasai" = "Good Night"
Ja na - "See ya!" or Ja = "Later", basically farwell phrases.
Kitsune - fox demon or fox spirit
Tanuki - raccoon-dog demon or spirit, more friendly and safe than the Kitsune.
Youkai - demons
Obake - ghosts
Mononoke - monsters
Oni - ogres

Inuyasha Words

Osawari! - Sit!  The subduing spell used by Kagome on Inuyasha.
Houshi - Novice monk
Bouzo - a disgraceful, or lecherous monk
Taiji'ya - a demon hunter
Inu-kuro - dog-turd, a nickname Kouga gave Inuyasha.
Hounriki - the power of Buddha.  Magical powers given by Buddha to monks, or good ones at least.
Shikon no Tama - Jewel of Four Souls
Shikon no Kakera - Shard of the Four Souls
Kazaana - Air Tunnel, or Air Rip Tunnel...Miroku's Vortex.

Suffixes:

-chan : friendly term, used mostly by school girls
-san: Mr, Mrs, or Ms.
-kun: used for boys younger or the same age as the speaker.  Not very respectful, it means "little".
-sama : Lord or Lady, a form of high respect.
-danna : same as -sama, but an older term
-baba: Grandma or granny.
