Punk Rock
Once a while near other great music styles I very much enjoy punk rock and so I decided to write a bit about it. I have no idea if you do, but if you're interested then please read. I'd also like to point out that the opinion that all "punks" are definitely drug addicts or drunks is wrong. It depends on a person, not the music/clothing style.
Sex Pistols started out on 1975 and they lasted only for 2 years, but with those two years they made sure they would always be remembered. That kind of rock music is mostly considered to have its start from the 1970s. It's characterized by deliberately offensive lyrics attacking conventional society and popular culture, and often expressing alienation and anger. Thats why Sex Pistols were as well banned all over England, mostly of course cause of lyrics, but also people were afraid of the effect the band may have on its followers. Punk is musically categorized as loud, simple three-chord rock, but the ideas and lyrics are the strongest part of it.Fascism is the exact opposite of what many people in punk rock stand for. Thats why in music; punk rock often refers to the current Government or politicians as Fascists.
Here's a bit about Punk rock and Sex Pistols
Drums- the drummer in a punk band is very important; they're usually played fast and hard, which adds to rest of the fast, loud music.
Vocals- sings and very often writes lyrics, occasionally plays an instrument (mostly a guitar, sometimes bass, once a while, not very often drums). On a lot of cases people think music and/or lyrics are written by the singer, which is not always true. Singers can end up being singers sometimes just by the simple fact that they are the only ones who have the instruments or just 'cause they are not able to play any on their own, so they end up as singers for the band.
THE SEX PISTOLS ARE:
Glen Matlock born August 27, 1956 original bassist
Johnny Rotten born January 31, 1956 lead singer
Paul Cook born July 20, 1956 drummer
Sid Vicious born May 10, 1957 - died February 2, 1979 bassist
Steve Jones born May 3, 1955 guitarist
Anarchy is easily the most popular political standing of punks, and other rebellious teenagers. Anarchy is when there is no Government, no authority what so ever. No way to enforce laws, and no laws to enforce anyway. It allows more freedom, the freedom to do whatever you want. There are many good points and arguments to why Anarchy is a superior form of ruling, but probably reasons outnumber the good ones.
"Listen we invented Punk, we write the rules, you follow. Not the other way 'round." Johnny Rotten
