| September 2nd, 2006: Ahhh! The cursed month, September has arrived! That means the return of thy dreaded... SCHOOL! Which means, less updates. Sorry. I will still try to update as much as I can.
As for updates today, the Purpose for this Site article has been released. The News Archive has finally been updated, and made less sloppy. I was also planning on making an article about MUGEN, but sense it didn't relate that much to kaiju, (aside from the fact you can download Godzilla and King Ghidorah for it) I scrapped it. Although there isn't much today, you can expect much more in the future. I have been working on reviews for KING KONG VS. GODZILLA (1962) and GODZILLA VS. MEGALON (1973), as well as Sony's DVD release of GODZILLA VS. GIGAN (1972). GODZILLA VS. MEGALON (1973) should be released sometime next week, while the release dates for the other two reviews are TBA. In other news, Kaiju Big Battel is returning to Boston for their next live Big Battel event. The name of the event is Shpadoinkel Mania XVIII. Who will Kung Fu Chicken Noodle select as his opponent? Will Pedro finally claim his revenge on the traitor, Silver Potato? Find out on October 20th, 2006. For more information, check out www.kaiju.com. In other news, the hit film SINKING OF JAPAN (2006) has stayed ranked at fifth place in Japan's box office since its release on July 15th. The box office smash film started its Korean run on August 31st. The film's tremendous success has lead to many distribution deals. Deals have been made and confirmed to release the film in China, Germany, Netherlands, and Sweden. No word yet on an American release of the film, but an English website for the film has been launched. Check it out here. In even more news, Tsuburaya Productions' 13 part mini series, BIO PLANET WOO (2006), finished its primary run on NHK' BShi network on August 13th. Now, it has been announced that the series will be arriving on DVD. Bio Planet Woo vol. 1 will feature episodes 1 & 2 in their original Japanese language with no subtitles. Its not over yet. Godzilla has also been appearing this year. No, its not another movie- its a commercial campaign. Canon's new series of commercials for their brand new EOS Kiss Digital X camera. Some short new footage was filmed with the Godzilla suit used for the Big guy's fiftieth anniversary film, GODZILLA: FINAL WARS (2004). And last but not least, made for the upcoming Ultraman film: ULTRAMAN MEBIUS & ULTRAMAN BROTHERS (2006) which will begin its theatrical run on September 16th, three new DVDs will be released on September 20th called Fight! Ultra Brothers! The Deadly Shot Big Encyclopedia. Each disc run for about fifty minutes each. The goal of these DVDs is to introduce the original Ultra Brothers from 1966 - 1973 to the new generation of fans. The first volume will cover the various beam techniques used by the Ultra Brothers time and time again. The second disc will discuss the Ultra Brothers' special armaments, such as Ultraman Taro's King Bracelet.
