Prolouge: A Sudden Attack
Kobayashi peeked into space with his telescope. Stargazing, he was mesmerized by the twinkling bright lights that floated in deep space. Kobayashi studied the stars from the balcony on his house, near the roof of the small building. He could gaze at the bright stars for hours on end, and still be mesmerized by their wonderful sensation. However, he would not be doing so tonight. As he peaked once more into his telescope, he saw a shooting star. He silently and happily closed his eyes and made a wish.
I dont have much to wish for though, he thought to himself. My life is a dream come true for me. I have my health, my wealth, and my wife- and a telescope. As well as the beautiful stars though, I wish my job was a little less tiring. Kobayashi chuckled at the thought. He continued to gaze at the stars, the shooting star traveling far beyond his own sight. He was stunned, however, when the shooting star suddenly turned its direction and increased speed at an alarming rate. He then noticed something was chasing after the star. Kobayashi, in stunned silence, returned to the telescope to take a closer look at the star. Kobayashi saw the shooting star through the telescope, and realized.

Thats no star.

Gamera zipped through the air, flying at full speed in order to avoid various attacks from an offensive Gigan. Gamera had been resting on the Twin Islands, a duo of tiny islands lying towards the west of Japan. Gigan had awoken him from his slumber, and shortly after attacked him. Gamera had been dodging attack after attack ever since then.
Gamera had been flying for two straight hours, and still hadnt found the opportunity to turn around and attack. Kobayashi watched in utter shock and fear. He attempted to yell for his wife, Kami, to come up and see the incredible event, but he just couldnt find the words. Despite failing to call for Kami, she came up anyway. The noise was far too loud not to here. Kami raced up asking Whats going on?! only to see it for herself and watch along with Kobayashi. Both were speechless as Gamera screamed in pain. Gigan had finally landed a blow on Gamera with his ray. Gamera slowed to help ease the pain, which allowed for Gigan to grab a hold on Gameras leg using its grappling hook. Gigan then proceeded to drop down to the ground, tugging Gamera down with him. Gamera crashed into a building shell-first, crushing the residents that had lived there. This was not very far from the balcony where Kobayashi and Kami stood. It was in their range of vision, and both screamed at the mere sight of it. The thundering bellows of a hurt Gamera was all anyone could hear in the small town. People watched on from windows and the streets as Kobayashi and Kami did. Soon after Gamera crashed, the town grew into a chaotic panic. Residents grabbed everything they could carry and attempted to flee the town. The town was filled with the sound of horrified civilians and Gameras cries of pain. Gameras green blood oozed from his elbow on his right arm, where Gigan had hit him.  The merciless cyborg then retrieved his grappling hook, releasing Gamera. Despite the intense pain, Gamera knew he had to protect the town. He got back on his feet and turned around to face Gigan. Gigan roared in supremacy as he charged forth at Gamera. Gamera attempted to punch Gigan, but Gigan held back the defenders hands with his sharp claws. Pushing Gamera back, Gigan reached forth with one menacing claw- and left a mortal wound; a huge gash on Gameras chest. More blood escaped from Gameras body. The humans savior could not last much longer. Struggling to even land a hit on Gigan, Gamera desperately sent a scorching fire ball out of his mouth, and onto Gigan. Gigan was hit and fell backwards, screeching out from the pain of Gameras most powerful weapon. However, Gigan was not seriously hurt, and after a moment of recovering, the cyborg returned to its feet and engaged Gamera in combat yet again. At an incredibly rapid pace, Gigan used his claws to perform deadly blows on Gameras body. Gamera let out a cry for help as he fell to the ground, large gashes everywhere on his body. Gamera had lost too much blood, and finally collapsed on the ground. He had fainted. Kobayashi and Kami, who had been some of the very few who stayed in the town to see the result of the battle, screamed in terror as Gigan prepared to finish off Gamera.
