chapter 03
It was Friday, and tonight was Brooklyn and JC's "date".
Brooklyn had the night off. She was at home getting ready for that evening. As she finished, she looked at the clock, she still had a little time before JC got there. She grabbed her journal from her night stand and sat on her bed, opening it up.
November 16, 2002
Just as she finished, the doorbell rang. She put her journal away in her drawer and stood up going downstairs.
She smiled opening the door. JC smiled back at her.
"You look gorgeous." He said. She wore at black dress with thin straps.
"Thank you, you look good too."
He smiled. "Ready to go?"
"Yep." She grabbed her coat and purse, closing the door and they went to the car and soon left.
It's been a while since I've wrote in here...Well let me update you on what's been going on. Work has been the normal, school too. Finals are soon, so I'm sorta freaking out about that. But...to the better stuff. I met this guy a few days ago. His name is JC. Yes the JC from *NSYNC. I can't believe how nice he is! He's perfect! He's such a gentleman. I met him at work, he's here for 2 weeks. And the last 3 days he's been sending with me. Tonight we're going out to dinner. I'm excited! I can't really explain what I really think of him. I really like him and it'd be nice to be something more than friends...But, I want to get to know him better. He might end up being that charming celebrity at first then end up being a player. I don't want another broken heart. Let's hope things are good with him...Good luck to me! Bye!

They arrived at The Wolf Gang Puck and went inside. Being seated right away.
JC sat across from Brooklyn. "This place is very nice."
"My mom recommended it." She smiled
"Really?" He smiled.
"Yeah, she asked why but, I wouldn't tell her."
JC chuckled.
The waiter came and ordered their dinners. They made small talk as they waited on their food.
"So JC, I suppose you've been everywhere in the world. So what's your favorite place?"
"Um...well I like Colorado."
"Obviously."
"I've been to the Bahamas, that was fun we did this big concert thing and Tim McGraw sang with us...Europe was fun...I have a lot of favorites."
"Awsome."
"What's your favorite? Didn't you say you've been to England and Austrilla?"
"Yeah, I really liked Austrilla. And Hawaii was beautiful. Amazing place. I got the best pictures there."
"You'll have to show me sometime."
"I will. After I got back I had to make a portfolio of my work and I had to add what my opinions of them were. It was fun."
"That's great."
"I really want to go to Cabo San Lucas."
"I've been there. It's beautiful." He said
"You have? Aw...I'm jealous."
JC smiled. "So what types of picutres do you take? People, Landscape?"
"I mostly do landscapes, but I'll do people here and there. I actually got asked to photograph Justin Timberlake in the summer but it was when I was in Hawaii."
"Really? Justin's a good guy, we're like brothers."
There food arrived and they ate quietly. After dinner they paid the check and left back to the parking lot.
JC drove her back home. They stood outside his car and talked before she went inside.
"I had a really good time." JC smiled.
"Me too." She hugged him. When she pulled back she was inches from his lips. He began to lean into kiss her, when her cell phone rang.
"Shit!" Brooklyn pulled away suddenly. The moment was totally ruined. She looked down trying to find her phone in her purse.
"Hello?"
"Brooke. It's Sara. Are you able to come in tonight? Ray can't come in, he had some family problems, his mom is in the hospital."
"It's my night off."
"I know Brooke. I'm sorry."
"Is it that busy?"
"There are a bunch of fans outside for whoever is here in Denver."
"Damnit..." She sighed, looking back up at JC. He had a questioning look on his face, "...Fine. I'll be there in 20 minutes. I need to change."
"Thank you so much."
"Yeah, yeah bye."
"Bye."
Brooklyn ended the call. She looked up at JC.
"Is it ok if I take a rain check? They really need me at work."
JC smiled. "Sure. It's ok. Do you need a ride?"
"Yes, please?"
"Of course."
"Ok well wait one minute I have to go change real quick."
"Ok. Is it ok if I wait inside."
"Sure."
Brooklyn walked inside her apartment and to her room to change into her uniform. She was in and out, then her and JC left to the apartment.
JC drove his Jeep Cherokee to the front of the hotel.
"Holy cow. There are a lot of people here." Brooklyn said
"They found out I was here." JC said
"Go around the back and through the garage." She said
"Ok." JC drove to the back of the hotel and to the underground garage. They got in the elevators.
"You can go straight to your room from here. I'll tell them at the front desk that you're here."
"Ok, thank you." He smiled
"I'm sorry the evening got interrupted. We can get together again another time." She said
"Of course, I had a really good time Brooke."
"Me too."
JC gave her a hug and kissed her on the cheek.
"I'll talk to you later." He smiled
"Ok, bye." She said, as the elevator doors opened and she walked out.
JC went upstairs into his suite and closed the door behind him, throwing his jacket on the chair next to the door. He smiled to himself, he had the most wonderful night. He really liked Brooklyn and wanted to get to know her better. He was a little disappointed when their almost kiss, got interrupted.
'Oh well...' He thought to himself. 'There will be other chances.' He smiled.
Midnight.
Brooklyn was the only one at the front desk, it had been dead for about an hour. She was playing around on the computer, looking at next week's schedule. She had 4 days off next week.
"Oh wow!" She said surprised. She smiled, remembering something. She picked up the phone dialing an extension.
JC just stepped out of the shower as the phone rang. He walked out of the bahtroom with a towel wrapped around his waist.
"Hello?"
"Hey, it's Brooke. What are you up to?" She asked
"Just got out of the shower." He said smiling, knowing he's getting her think about him in a towel. He was happy to hear from her.
"At midnight?"
"Sure, why not?"
"Ok, anyway...are you busy at all next week from like Monday to Thursday?"
"Not that I know of yet, why?"
"I think I will take you up on your offer."
"What offer?"
"I have Monday through Thursday off next week and you said you wanted me to take you to Aspen."
He smiled. "Oh yeah."
"So, you wanna go?"
"Of course."
"Ok cool. We'll talk more about it tomorrow."
"Okay."
"I got to go. See ya."
"Bye, goodnight."
"You too." She hung up the phone and smiled.
The next day. Saturday.
"Brooke, I heard you have next week off." Sara said
"Yeah, when is your break?"
"The week after yours."
"Aw, really? We won't be able to hang out and be silly."
"I know...on the weekend maybe?"
"Yeah."
"So what are you going to do on your break?"
"Go up to Aspen and snowboarding."
"How much fun!...Going with anyone?"
"Yeah."
"Who?"
"A guy."
"A guy? Will I ever get to meet this guy?"
"Maybe you already have..."
"What! No way...who is he?"
"I'm not gonna tell you." Brooklyn said walking away.
"Brooklyn! I'll find out!" Sara said
Brooklyn stuck her head out from around the corner. "Yeah sure you will."
"I will." Sara said looking at her.
"You have a customer." Brooklyn pointed to the person. It was JC. She smiled at him when Sara turned around. Walking back behind the wall for staff only.
"Oh..." Sara turned around seeing JC. "Hello, how may I help you?"
"I would like some extra pillows in my room, they're flat and suck." JC said
"Oh I'm sorry for the inconvience sir. We'll get that fixed right away."
"Thank you...now where is breakfast?"
"Over in the diner to your left."
"Thanks!" He smiled.
"Hey Brooke!" Sara called for Brooklyn.
"What?" She said coming out from behind the wall.
"Can you get some extra pillows for this person, please?"
She looked at JC. "What you expecting a lady?" She joked, smiling.
JC smiled. "I wish."
Brooklyn froze. Coming back to reality a few seconds later. "Uh...ok. I'll go do that now. Have a good day sir, bye." She walked away back to the restricted area. Finding the pillows and having them sent up to JC's room.
