i got you*
chapter 4

Amber woke up the next day, glad that it was a Friday, and had two days off from hell since everything now is.  She got ready, and grabbed her NEW cell phone since these girls STOLE it from her, and the teachers replaced it after they got it back and it was broken.
She was about to leave for class when her room phone rang.  She went over, looked at the caller-id, and smiled picking it up, "Amber's Club, you want to get in, you have to say the password."
"Um, Amber?" she heard Chelsea ask.
"Close enough," she giggled, sighed, and sat down in her chair.  "Hi."
"Hey.  OMG, I have not heard JC so pissed off in my LIFE," she started to say, "Amber, he got a group meeting this morning, he wanted me and Johnny there too, and he and Johnny BOTH told us what was going on."
"Yeah, it's true," she said closing her eyes.
"Johnny had to change EVERYONE'S phone number too because THEY were getting A LOT of calls," she added while she was at her desk looking at a pile of papers that Johnny gave her that morning.
"I figured he had to."
"So, are you okay?"
"No, I'm trapped in my own room thanks to those girls, and I have two guards to take me to class and stuff now.  It's SO embarrassing."
"Well, I wish that I could be there and kick some butt back there for you, but I have to get back to work.  Johnny told me that I could call you ANYTIME that I want right now because you're needing a friend too."
Amber finally smiled after not smiling for a week, "Thanks Chelsea.  I'm glad that I have a friend that cares that much."
"You're welcome.  Well, I'll talk to you later.  Papers are calling me."
"Okay, bye."
"Bye Bye Bye," Chelsea said laughing, and hung up.
Amber hung her phone up and left her room to be ready for hell and embarrassment.
~*~*~*~
Chelsea looked up to see JC standing in the doorway.  "Hey, aren't you suppose to be on your way to go see your girlfriend?" she asked smiling.
"Not for another few hours," he said walking in and dropping his duffle bag onto the floor.  "Besides, I heard that you was talking to Amber, and I wanted to make sure that she was okay?"
"Oh, she's really not okay.  But I think she will later on.  After seeing you, it'll make her feel better."
"I hope so."
"I KNOW so," Chelsea said.
JC looks at his bag, picturing the small black velvet box.  Chelsea notices this.  "JC, what is it?"
"Well… I thought that I'd um…" he sighed, "I want your opinion on it."  He gets into his bag, grabs the box and shows Chelsea.
"OMG, you're going to ask her?" she asked excitedly.
"Yeah.  Do you think I should?  I mean, Johnny and I talked and he helped me out on some stuff, and well… I have to see if Amber is going to agree to it first."
Chelsea's smile got bigger, "JC, could I take a look at it?  Please?"
He knew and tossed her the box.  "Sure thing."
She opens it and her jaw dropped.  "Wow, JC, it's beautiful.  I mean; Amber's going to LOVE it."
"Do you think so?"
"Sure.  She's been talking about a ring like this as her engagement ring."
"Would you believe that IS the ring."
"Really?" she asked shocked.
"Yep.  She told me that she was eyeing this ring, and I called around, and got online and found it.  The one that she saw was cheaper, but I went all out and got…"
"THE REAL THING?" she asked excitedly.
"Yep," he smiled.
"Oh, Josh, it'll be great for her."  She paused, "How are you going to purpose to her?"
"That I don't know about."
"It's Athens, anywhere would work."
"Well, I guess you're right.  I'll call Elan and ask her.  She'll know the best place."
"You'll know inside how to ask her and where.  Besides, this whole week off you have time."
JC smiled.  She was right, and he was going to make up the whole 365 plus days of being away from Amber.  It was starting tonight.
~*~*~*~
"Thanks for coming Lonnie," JC told his guard.
"No problem," Lonnie said with a smile.
Lonnie was driving the van that they rented to the college as JC looked around outside to find the best spot to ask Amber.  To him, it just had to be perfect.
They reached the college, parked, and slowly got out of the van.
JC noticed that it wasn't bad.  All the students were busy doing stuff that he didn't have to worry about fans just yet.  He was glad that he called Elan for where Amber was going to be; the group was rehearsing for the musical, so the two headed for the auditorium.
Elan said that she'd wait for them outside to get inside to surprise Amber.  JC found her right outside some doors with the light above her.
"Hi, you must be Elan?" JC asked.
"Yes, and you ARE Josh, and Lonnie you told me." She smiled shaking their hands.  "Well, we're all taking a break and I should be inside right about now for our next scene, so come on inside and I found a dark corner that you can sit in so that no one can see you or spot you just yet," Elan said opening the door for them.
JC walked inside, nervous as hell now.  This was it, seeing Amber for the first time after a year passed by.
They walked through a doorway and JC looked up at the stage and just stopped.  A girl that was standing there about 5'4", in a tight pair of pants, and a blue shirt with long puffy sleeves, long brown hair, pulled back into a braid, was talking to a guy on stage going over something on the script he figured.  It was his Amber.  The girl that he missed seeing this past year.
"Josh, you better hide before Amber sees you," Elan told him.
JC and Lonnie went hiding in the dark.
~*~*~*~
As Amber and Doug were looking over their script and music, she looked up to see Elan walk back in from taking her break outside.
"Hey, Elan, is there anyone outside?" Amber asked as Elan reached the stage.
"Nope, surprisingly there isn't," she answered smiling, "But there might be later tonight after rehearsal."
"Are you going to be okay?" Doug asked.
"Yea, I'll be fine."
"Great," he smiled and looked around, "Okay, everyone, lets get back to work on the next scene!" he yelled out to the others that were sitting down talking.
Amber sighed feeling her phone in her back pocket.  She thought that JC would have called her by now, but he didn't, he never called her all day.
~*~*~*~
JC watched and amazed by the way everyone sang, danced, and acted, especially Amber.  She sang her heart out, and acted so well.  JC was mostly happy for her, and to see what she loved to do, and why she decided to sign up for the summer tour.
After the rehearsal got done, everyone clapped and cheered, and went up to the stage.  JC stood up without thinking and started clapping and cheering too, which he soon noticed that EVERYONE looked over at that corner and he stopped.
Lonnie reached up and pulled JC back down by his pants.  "Be quiet.  You did want to surprise Amber right?" he asked through his teeth looking at JC.
JC blushed, nods his head, and waits.
~*~*~*~
Amber looked over in the dark corner hoping that it wasn't some girls waiting for her to leave.
"Okay, everyone that's it, see you next week," Doug called out as everyone cheered again and started to leave.
They even started telling him good luck for that weekend basketball championship game too.
Elan walked over toward Amber, "Hey."
"Hi," she smiled grabbing her stuff.
"Um, someone wants to interview you for the school paper about the musical.  I told him he'd have to wait until after the practice."
"He's not a big fan is he to you know?"
"He's told me that he's been wanting to interview you forever.  He finally got asked to come and interview you for it."
Amber sighed, "Okay."  They started heading off stage, "Where is he at?" she asked.
"Oh, out there in the corner," Elan told her with a smile.
~*~*~*~
JC and Lonnie watched Elan and Amber coming their way.  As they watched, JC was getting more nervous, just wanted to hug her, kiss her, but he didn't want to scare her.
"Hey buddy.  She'll interview for you," Elan told him was a smile.
Amber watched a dark figure stand up, and walk toward her.  As he got closer, finally into the light, she inhaled, jaw dropped, and her eyes got big.  "No.  It can't be," she backed up, "Josh?"
He smiled, "Hi Amber."
She just stared, "What are you doing here?" she finally asked.
"I got a whole week off, thanks to someone who knew that it was time to see each other again."
"Johnny," she answered.
"And Chelsea," he added.
Amber's eyes got bigger, "Wow."  She then started crying, and ran over and hugged him, which he hugs back.  "Oh, god Josh I missed you SO much."
"I'm here now," he told her, kissing her head.
Lonnie walked over finally, "Lets go to her dorm, and get her stuff ready," he said.
"Ready?" she asked looking up at Lonnie and then JC, "Ready for what?"
"Well, lets just go and I'll tell you all about it," he said with a smile.
She smiled, "Okay."
"But first, I want to see a kiss you two," Elan said smiling.
Amber and JC looked at each other and kissed with no hesitation.
