chapter 12
A week later.
Amanda still wasn't back. Everyone was really worried. They guys, Eve, Brad, Murphy, and Johnny asll sat in the hotel room talking about what will be happening.
"Amanda has been gone for a week now. The FBI is still searching for her. We are trying hard not to get the press involved. But we can't give up quite yet. I won't. I gotta find my baby girl." Edward said tears coming to his eyes.
"I do too." Josh thought to himself.
"We don't have much to go on. But if you guys see anything out of the ordinary. Please tell one of us."
"Okay." They all said

Amanda was still sitting in the same chair she's been in for a week. Ducked tape all around her body. On her legs, arms and stomach. And now a blindfold. Since she had tried to escape a few days before, Ryan caught her and didn't want to take any chances. He totured her more than ever. She had a bandage on her side when Ryan tried to shoot her for escaping. It grazed her body. She was getting weak and starting to give up.
Ryan took the blindfold off of her eyes. She squinted her eyes from the light.
"So where are they? I thought you said they'd find you by now? They're doing a pretty bad job, huh?" He said
She didn't say anything.
"What ya got nothin' to say? That's a first. So what do you think they're all thinking?...Where is Amanda? Is she dead?"
There was silence for a while. There was a loud ring. It was Ryan's cell phone.
"Don't say anything." He told Amanda. "Hello?"
"Hey Ry, it's Justin. What are you up to?"
"Nothing, why?"
"Can you come occupy JC, he's really down about Amanda being gone."
"Sure, I'll be right over." He hung up the phone.
"Well I must go."
"How can you do this to Josh? Betray him like this? Lie to him...remember he doesn't like liars."
"Fuck you! Because I can!" He was about to walk out.
"He's never going to forgive you."
"He'll never know." He said leaving. She heard him drive away.
"God he's such a asshole." She said outloud. She sat there for a few minutes thinking of what she could do to get out of there. She started to move her legs as best as she could to loosen up the ducked tape, trying to break free. She finally loosened up the tape taking her legs out of the hole. She scooted over to the wall trying to find something to rub against to rip the tape. She found pens on a desk taking one off of the desk and dropping one. She picked up another one, finally ripping the tape breaking free her arms. She tore off the tape around her stomach and stood up. Determined to try and get out of there. She looked out the door. Seeing no one she stepped out.
She saw an old beat down pick-up truck. "Hopefully I'll be able to start it." She said to herself. She quickly hot wired the truck. It started after trying several times. She got in and left.

Josh got into his Jeep driving away from the hotel. Him and the guys had yet another meeting with Johnny and Edward about Amanda. He didn't wanted to be reminded that she's missing, he's got that figured out already. He had to get away from it all. Ever since they told the guys about them being in the FBI and Amanda missing it was all starting to get to him. He drove down the highway, exiting in San Diego. Getting closer and closer to her house, his heart became heavy.
Amanda drove up into the driveway of her house. Going inside.
"EVE! YOU HERE?!"
No one answered. She went upstairs and bandaged her side in the bathroom. She heard someone come in the house.

"Shit. Could that be Ryan or Eve?" She asked herself outloud.
"EVE IS THAT YOU?!" She said
"AMANDA?!" Josh said. "Amanda?" He said running up the stairs.
Amanda heard Josh's voice.
"Josh?" She walked out of the bathroom. Josh ran up to her taking her into his arms. She wrapped her arms around him tightly.
"OMG! I missed you so much." She said
"Not as much as I missed you." He said looking at her. She smiled locking eyes with him.
"I love you."
"I love you too." He kissed her on the lips. Never wanting it to end.
"Where is everyone? Do they not know I'm gone?" She asked
"The FBI has been looking everywhere fro you all week, but they didn't have much to go on so it's hard."
"They told you?" She said a little scared.
"Yeah they did."
"...I'm sorry."
"No need to sweetheart. I understand."
"Really?"
"Yeah...at least I don't have to remember a new name like Marcie...I mean Eve. I knew you two looked a lot alike."
She laughed. Josh noticed the bandage on her side.
"What happened? Are you hurt?"
"No, I'm fine. I got in trouble. So he tried to shoot me but it just grazed my body."
"Oh baby, I'm sorry." He hugged her.
"It's ok it's not your fault."
"Who is it?...Where is he?" He asked
"I don't know where he went?" She tried to avoid in telling him who it was.
"Who was it?"
She didn't say anything.
"Amanda?"
"I can't tell you Josh."
"Why not?"
"Because...Please can we go?"
"Yeah."
"Where's my sister and dad?"
"At the hotel."
"Ok let's go...you go in your own car just in case he sees me." She said
"Ok. Be careful. I love you." He kissed her before she got into her car and left. He followed her.

Amanda and Josh walked through the lobby going up to their floor. They walked down the hall. Edward and Eve walked out of one of the hotel rooms seeing Amanda.
"AMANDA!" Eve ran over to her and hugging her. Edward walked over and did the same.
"Are you alright?" He asked
"Yeah I'm fine, only a little cut...excuse me for a second...Ryan can I please talk to you?"
Josh and Ryan were talking. Ryan smiled. "Sure."
Amanda gave him dirty look. They went into the stairway to talk.
"Why the fuck are you here acting like you did nothing wrong? I'll tell them!" She said
"They have no fucking clue, they're clueless. And since you're back they're all happy." Ryan said
"They're still looking for you though and being here just made it so much easier to catch you."
"I want my damn money!"
"We had a deal!" She said firmly.

"What's up with them?" Josh asked
Eve stood there silently, having a feeling something was wrong.
"Eve what's wrong?" Her father asked
"She's hiding something." Eve walked over to the door that Ryan and Amanda just walked to. "Amanda?" They were gone. "She's gone."
"Where'd they go?" Josh asked
"FUCK AMANDA!" Eve slammed the door.
"What?" Edward asked.
"He's the fucking guy."
"What? That's impossible." Josh said
"No it's not. He's always around and knows where you guys are all the time. You probably tell him everything...SHIT! Why didn't I think of this before?" She ran back to the stairs. Running down them as fast as she could. She got to the lobby and ran outside. They were no where in sight.
"DAMNIT!"
"Are they gone?" Murphy asked
"Yes...Josh do you remember anything Ryan told you that could of lead to this?"
"Uh...he seemed to have a little crush on Amanda, but nothing too obvious." Josh said
She turned to her father. "I bet that's it. He wants something and if he doesn't get it he'll hurt someone...but wait, they were being stalked even before we came in. He didn't even know her. It has to be deeper than that."
"You're right Jo." Agent Murphy said
"Where could of they gone?" Eve asked herself as she walked outside.
"Where are you going?" Edward asked
"To find my sister." She said getting into the car.
"I'll go with you." Murphy said he hurried to the car and got in as Eve sped away.
Edward looked over at Josh. He looked terrible. Very concerned. Edward put a hand on Josh's shoulder.
"They'll find her. She'll be alright...I'm worried about her too."
"Thanks...but I feel so helpless. I want to do something."
"The best thing for you to do it be patient. We don't want you getting hurt."
"I know."
Eve and Murphy drove down the road.
"Where are you going?" He asked
"I have no idea." She said. She started to drive off in the middle of nowhere. A out of town small place.
"Is that a car ahead?"
"I'm not sure. Let's check it out."
Ryan and Amanda has stopped on the side of the road.
"DON'T FUCKING TOUCH ME!" Amanda yelled.
"I ALREADY TOLD YOU I WANT MY FUCKING MONEY!" Ryan said
"WE HAD A DEAL RYAN!...AND WHAT IS MONEY GOING TO DO FOR YOU?...YOU'RE NOT GOING TO HURT THOSE GUYS!"
"MONEY WILL GET ME WHAT I WANT!"
"NO IT WON'T! THE ONLY KIND OF SPOTLIGHT YOU'LL GET IS BEING THE STALKER OF *NSYNC!"
"OR MAYBE OF KILLING THE GIRLFRIEND OF POPSTAR JC CHASEZ, AN UNDERCOVER FBI AGENT!...HUH? WHAT ABOUT THAT!?"
"GO AHEAD AND KILL ME! I'M THE ONE PROTECTING THEM! BETTER ME THAN THEM!"
As soon as she said that Ryan pulled out his gun and pulled the trigger. Hitting Amanda in the shoulder. She fell to the ground.
Eve and Murphy drove up just as he shot her. They jumped out of the car. Murphy tackled Ryan, giving him his rights and arresting him. Eve went over to Amanda to see if she was ok.
"Amanda are you ok?"
"Yeah." Eve put pressure on the wound by wrapping a shirt around it, then helping her up. "God I hate my job." Amanda chuckled. Eve laughed at her.
Murphy already had Ryan in the car. They sat in the back while Amanda and Eve sat in the front going back to headquarters.
