chapter 10
"Are we there yet?" Amanda asked.
"Almost sweetheart." Josh said
"Where the hell are you taking me?...I might fall asleep before we get there."
"Oh hush...we're here." He stopped the car, turning the engine off. He got out of the car and walked to her side of the car. He opened the door, grabbing her hand and helping her out.
"Can I take this off yet?"
"No leave it on till I tell you to take it off."
"Yes sir."
They walked into the restaurant. People stared as they noticed JC and saw him with a girl who was blindfolded. He lead her into a back room, he reserved privately for them. He sat her down at the table. Sitting across from her.
"Ok you can take it off now." He said. She took it off. She smiled at him when she saw him. Then looking around the room.
"Where are we?"
"Just a little outside Chicago. I thought we'd come to dinner first then go to my apartment."
"Apartment? You have an apartment in Chicago?"
"Yeah, in the suburbs of Chicago. It's 10 minutes from here."
"Cool. How long have you had it?"
"For a while. Maybe 6 or 7 months. I just love coming to Chicago and I really liked the apartment. So I got it."
"Nice, you got the kind of money to do things like that. Lucky you." She smiled. He smiled back at her. He watched her. Catching her everymove. She saw him staring at her.
"What?"
"You look beautiful tonight." He said
She smiled. Slightly blushing. "Thank you...this is so nice Josh. I love it!"
He grabbed her hand, sqeezing it. "My pleasure. Happy Birthday." He leaned over the table. Amanda meeting him half way. He placed a small, gentle kiss on her lips. "Thank you."
They sat back down just as the waiter came in the room.
"Hello, how are you two tonight?" The waiter asked
"Good." They both said.
"Have you decided what you want for dinner this evening?"
The waiter took their orders for the food and drinks.
"Ok. I'll bring that right out. You two enjoy your night."
"Thank you." Josh said
The waiter left the two alone.
"So are you and Marcie talking yet?" Josh asked
"Yes we are. She came by this morning and gave me a birthday present." Amanda smiled.
"That's good. You two are so close. You seem almost like sisters."
'If you only knew the whole story.' Amanda thought to herself.
"She's like family. I'd do anything for her. I'd put my life on her."
"Wow! Pretty powerful."
"Yeah...so speaking of presents...."She smiled.
He laughed. "Not till after dinner sweetie."
"Oh darn. Ok." She laughed.
The waiter came back with the champagne. He poured them each a glass.
"Enjoy." He put the bottle in the ice bucket and walked away.
Josh lifted up his glass. "Cheers to...us." He smiled.
"To us." She smiled back. Tapping her glass with his, then taking a sip.
As she looked at him, he was looking around the room. She noticed how much blue his eyes were that day. She smiled. Her eyes followed around his face, seeing his sexy sculpted jawbone and his oh so kissable lips. She started to get a little excited. She closed her eyes, slightly shaking the thoughts out of her head.
They talked for a while until the fool came and had small talk during dinner. Amanda finished her dinner.
"We gonna go now?"
Josh chuckled. "One more thing." He said
"What?" She asked curious.
He whistled. A big group of people walked into the room singing 'Happy Birthday.' Amanda had a big smile on her face. When they ended everyone clapped and soon left the room.
"That was so sweet. Thanks!" Amanda gave Josh a kiss on the lips. He put his hands behind her neck holding the kiss longer. He pulled away, looking her straight in the eyes wanting to tell her everything at the moment, how he felt. But that could wait. He was telling her later. He could wait.
"Ready to go?" He asked
"Yeah." She smiled.
They grabbed thier coats and left to Josh's apartment.
10 minutes later...
They arrived at his apartment and went inside.
"Ooo...nice place Josh. This is big." Amanda said
"Thanks." He put their coats away in the closet.
"So...you want your present now?" He said with a cute little grin on his face.
Amanda smiled big. "Yeah."
"Ok let me go get it. Go have a seat in the living room. Get comfortable."
"Okay." He disappeared upstairs. Amanda walked into the living room and sat on the couch. She looked around at all the pictures on the wall. She smiled.
A few minutes later Josh walked back downstairs and into the living room where Amanda was sitting. She looked up at him smiling when he walked in. He had a box, that looked like a book, in his hand. He took a seat next to her.
"Hi." He said smiling.
She smiled. "Hi." She looked down at the box in his hands. Then back at him.
"What's that?" She asked
"Why don't you see for yourself." He handed it to her.
She took it from him. Before opening it she look at him for a long moment. She began to open it slowly. She took the lid off the box seeing a small book inside. Taking the book out of the box, she opened it. It was a journal.
"This is my journal." Josh began saying. "I've had this for about 3 or 4 months. It's pretty much what I've done and thought over the last 4 months...and I want you to have it."
Amanda looked up at him. "Why do you want me to have you journal?"
"Because I talk about when I first met you, my thoughts...and when I first fell in love with you."
Her heart skipped a beat.
"I want you to know all that." He smiled.
She smiled back at him. "I-I...don't know what to say...this is..." She stopped and looked at him. She held his hand. "I love you too." She smiled. Josh got a huge smiled on his face. Leaning in and kissing her on the lips. The kiss deepended. Josh laied Amanda down on the couch. He put his hands to her face. She found the hem of his shirt and lifted it over his head. Josh's hand started to go up Amanda's shirt. She pushed away.
"Wait Josh."
"What? What's wrong?"
"Not here...let's go upstairs."
"Ok."
He grabbed her hand and they started to make their way upstairs. Suddenly the phone rang.
"Shit. Hold on." Josh went to answer his cell phone. "Hello?"
"Hey Josh, sorry to interrupt you...but is Amanda with you?" Marcie asked
"Yeah...hold on." He handed Amanda the phone. "It's for you."
"O-K." She took the phone. "Hello?"
"Hey what's up?" Marcie asked
"What do you want?" Amanda asked annoyed. Josh chuckled.
"Oh well Dad called and said he wanted you to call him about what you told me this morning. ASAP."
"Now!?"
"Hurry-up." Josh whispered, getting impatient.
"Ok." She mouthed.
"Yes as soon as you can." Marcie said
"That won't be soon then." She said lightly.
"What?"
"Ok I can't wait any longer. Let's go." Josh grabbed the phone from Amanda and hung up. Throwing the phone on the floor, attacking her lips. Amanda laughed while kissing him. They made their way inside the bedroom. Peeling off each other's clothes on they way. Josh gently laid Amanda down on the bed. Crawling ontop of her. He lightly kissed her on the lips.
"Are you sure about this?" He whispered.
She put her hands on his face. "Yes...I love you."
He smiled. "I love you too." He kissed her again.
The two had a night of passion. No quickie, they took their time, savoring the night. Talking afterwards then falling asleep in each other's arms.

The next morning...
Josh looked at Amanda, watching her sleep and holding her in his arms. It felt better than ever. He brushed the hair out of her face. She twitched a little. Her eyes started to slowly open, she saw Josh in front of her. She smiled.
"Good morning my love." He said smiling
"Morning."
He leaned down and kissed her.
"Am I dreaming?" She asked
He chuckled. "No."
"Good, cause I like this." She smiled
"Me too." He held onto her tighter.
"There was silence for a while.
"Josh."
"Yeah sweetie?"
"I'm scared."
"About what?"
"That I'll lose everything if someone finds out about us."
"You won't lose everything, you'll have me. No matter what."
She looked up at him. "Thank you."
"Anything for you."

2 days later...
"What time do you have to be at the sound check?" Amanda asked Josh as they drove down the highway.
"At 3." Josh said
"Ok, I'll take you there now."
"Okay."
Amanda drove him to the arena. Dropping him off real quick.
"I'll see you later, thanks for the ride."
"No problem."
He leaned over giving her a quick kiss.
"Bye sweetie, I love you."
"Love you too, bye." She said
He closed the door and she drove away as he walked inside.
She got back on the highway. Heading back to the hotel. She looked at the gas. "Oh...I need to go get some gas." She said outloud to herself. She pulled off the highway going to a local gas station. Putting back the nozzle into it's holder. She grabbed her purse and went inside. While looking for a drink she saw a man walk by her. He walked around the whole store then coming back to her. Walking up behind her. Putting a gun to her back.
"Don't say anything and go outside." He whispered violently to her. She followed his command. Getting into the back seat of his car. He got into the driver's seat and taking off to who knows where.
'Shit! What am I going to do? How will I get out of this one?...Who's doing this?' She asked herself silently. Her heart was beating faster than ever. Now more than ever was she truly scared.
