Kagome awoke, comfortably in a soft bed. She put her hand to her stomach and smiled as she felt Shippo cuddled at her stomach. Her mothering instincts kicked in as she lifted the kit from under her shirt and into her arms. She purred as she rubbed her cheek against the top of his head. She then remembered that she showed the Spirit Detectives her pasts. She held Shippo in her arms as she slowly sat up.

�Mashiro�please tell me I�ve done the right thing�� She whispered to herself. She instantly felt something amidst. Her hand flew up to her neck as she felt for the Shikon-no-tama.

She turned toward the door as she heard it open. Botan entered the room with pair of clothes for her and Sango came in with Kirara by her side with a pair of clothes for Shippo.

�Oh good you are up.� Botan smiled as she laid the clothes out. Sango did the same with Shippo�s and looked at Kagome. She then noticed Kagome�s panicked look.

�Kagome-chan?� Sango asked.

�Where are the Spirit Detectives?� Kagome asked quickly.

�They are with Koenma-sama.� Sango answered. Kagome nodded and got dressed in a hurry. She raced out of the room and toward Koenma�s office. She swung the door open and looked at the men in the room. In a blink of an eye, she pounced on Hiei and made him fall to the floor. She glared at him as everyone was looking at her in shock.

�Give it to me,� She whispered angrily to him. Hiei hn�ed flipped Kagome off him. She landed in a low crouch and growled at Hiei.

�What is she talking about Hiei?� Koenma asked as he stood up on his table. Sesshomaru walked to Kagome and tried to calm her down. Kagome rolled out of the way and flipped into an open area away from him. Yusuke took one step near her only to be flung into the ground. �We have to get her under control!� Koenma shouted.

Instantly a little ball of fur dashed into the room and looked at Kagome. Kurama watched with interest as Shippo started to walk to Kagome. He saw out of the corner of his eye Hiei. �Guys don�t move�� Kurama suggested. Hiei growled at Shippo as he past him to Kagome. Shippo squeaked in fear. Oh no�Kurama thought. In a flash Kagome was behind Shippo in a crouch.

�Never growl at my son.� She hissed.

<Do something! Hiei doesn�t know how to deal with her!> Youko yelled in Kurama�s mind. Suiichi agreed fully. There was too much tension in the room. <Let me out! Or we�ll all be purified!> Youko demanded. Kurama couldn�t suppress him anymore.

Kagome glanced up as she saw a flash of white and silver. When the light disappeared she saw a tall male kitsune who stood there with white hair and golden eyes. He growled menacingly at her and her cub. She growled back and whispered something to Shippo. He immediately went to Botan and Sango as Kagome crouched lower.

That�s it Kagome come to me�Youko thought as he waited for the first move. What he did not expect was Kagome to have a human/kitsune form like him. As she jumped at him, she changed in mid-air.

Kagome�s braid was the same length to her butt but now had purple, dark blue, and silver streaks from the ends up and stops just above the neck. Her outfit was like Youko�s but black with a purple obi. Around her neck was the crest of the Southern Lands. Also Kagome has black kitsune ears on her head and a kitsune tail. She was a thing of beauty. Her body was now leaner and you could tell she had some muscle there telling them she was pretty strong.

Youko grabbed Kagome as she lunged at him, turning and pulling her up again his chest. She struggled against his hold and even bit his arm. Because of her fangs his arm started to bleed. Youko had enough of her stupid struggle and idiotic rage. He bent his head down and bit her neck.

Everything seemed to stop as he did that. Botan, Sango, and Shippo smirked evilly yet happily. Hiei and Sesshomaru growled at him only to have him growl back. Kuwabara was too stupid to understand anything. Miroku stood by Koenma surprised at the turn of events. Yusuke watched with mild interest. He was thinking the same as Botan, Sango, and Shippo but he also was thinking about why she hidden his memories of her.

On the other hand, Kagome�or should I say Ceres, knew what the bite meant. Youko was in command now, if she opposed him there would be consequences to pay. She stayed perfectly still as Youko nibbled on her neck. Her mind reeled with ideas that she would never say out loud. Suddenly her mind snapped back to why she was there. She started to growl again only to have Youko bite her harder. She became silent and still.

�Be a good girl and obey�� He murmured into her. She held the growl in her throat and nodded. Youko lifted his head away from her neck and glared at Hiei. �What was she talking about earlier Hiei?�

�Nothing Fox,� Hiei said as he crossed his arms glaring at the woman in Youko�s arms.

�Liar!� She shouted and to attack him but Youko held her back. �You took the Shikon-no-tama when I dropped it!� Ceres yelled. Sesshomaru turned to Hiei and narrowed his eyes.

�Is that true?� He asked. Ceres scoffed.

�You doubt my ability to sense and see the Shikon-no-Tama Fluffy?� Ceres asked. She turned to Hiei and smirked slightly as she glared at him.

�Give what was her�s back.� Youko demanded. Hiei glared at Youko as he put a hand into his pocket to retrieve the jewel. His eyes widened slightly. Shippo started to laugh. The fire apparition looked toward Shippo.

�Mama stole this from you�� Shippo giggled as he held up the jewel. Ceres smiled innocently as Youko let her go. She walked to Shippo and took him into her arms. Shippo immediately nuzzled into her hold and smiled.

�Is that Kagome?� Kuwabara asked stupidly. Yusuke sighed and punched him upside the head.

�Of course it is baka.� He glared at the idiot. Ceres took the necklace from Shippo and put it around her neck and pat his head.

�Go find Rin and play with her�I�m sure she�s lonely.� Shippo nodded and ran off from his mother�s arms to find the little girl that consider his mother her sister.

�So Ceres�am I right? You are the legal heir of the Southern Lands?� Koenma asked. Ceres nodded and turned to them. �We have a lot of questions for you.�

�I know�let�s start with Yusuke since he seems not to understand why I erased his memories.� Yusuke nodded. �The reason was, it was too danger for Naraku to know I have any other family members. He would have gone after them. Especial if he knew they could fight really well against demons.�

�I suppose that is logical�� Miroku murmured as he crossed his arms. His staffed jingled slightly as he turned to Ceres. �But why didn�t you give them back once you were reborn into this world once again?�

�I refuse to answer that question. I have my reasons. I had my duties to do before I found you and Sango Miroku. I couldn�t just find Yusuke and undo the spell.� Ceres answered. She closed her eyes and sighed. �Now�Koenma your question, I suppose it is important.�

�Well yes and no�� Koenma answered. Ceres raised an eyebrow. �I wanted to ask you and your friends if you would like to become spirit detectives.� Ceres blinked at the question.

�I have to say that is up to Kagome-sama.� Miroku said.

�Yea�where ever she goes we�ll be there.� Sango agreed. Koenma looked at Sesshomaru. He turned his back to the toddler and walked toward the door.

�I will help, but I am not one you can call on constantly. Ceres, I will take Shippo and Rin to the Shrine. After you are done here, come home.� Sesshomaru said as he left. Ceres continued to look at Koenma. She smiled nervously.

�Give me sometime to think about it.� She told the small ruler. He nodded and smiled as he went back to work.

�If you wish Ceres-sama, I could always find information on Naraku�s whereabouts for you.� Koenma added. Ceres nodded turned to leave. Youko grabbed Ceres� wrist and glanced at her from the corner of his eyes.

�We need to talk�Princess�� He spat angrily. Ceres merely nodded and the two disappeared in a blur of speed.

Sango smiled evilly with Botan and began to murmur about something. They kept nodding and looked over at the boys. �Hey, let�s go to the Shrine.� Sango said as Kirara jumped onto her shoulder.

�After someone tells me why Youko appeared�� Yusuke whined slightly as he followed Miroku, who was following Sango and Botan.

�Hn�� Hiei started to think about that also. Seems the fox wants the girl as a mate since way back when. This should prove interesting. Hiei followed the ningens to the shrine as he thought more of this.

Youko and Ceres had gone back in the living quarters, but went into Kurama�s room. Ceres stood back as Youko closed and locked the door. He turned to Ceres and glared down at her. �Why didn�t you come find me? I know you could have.�

�Like I said I had duties.� Ceres answered.

�I had a duty too! I had a duty to protect you!� Youko yelled at her.

�I couldn�t be distracted�� She whispered not looking at him.

�So�I�m just a distraction to you?� Youko asked calmly. Ceres sharply looked up at him.

�No! Of course not!� Youko tilted Ceres� chin up toward him. �Youko��

�It�s been such a long time since I felt your lips princess�� Youko whispered as he leaned and lightly brushed against her lips. �You were to be my mate Ceres�� That�s what set something off in Ceres� mind. She pushed Youko away and glared at him.

�You would so easily distrust your mate to be?� Ceres asked angrily. Youko could feel her anger coming off in waves. �You would try to hurt me because a look a like killed our friend.� Youko narrowed his eyes.

�Kuronue was like a brother to me�and I didn�t know what was going on. You keep so many secrets from me.� Ceres just shook her head.

�Take me home�take me home please�� She said as she turned back into Kagome. Youko nodded and allowed Kurama to take over again. Kurama smiled calmly and opened a portal to the shrine.

~~~Kag�s POV

I plastered a fake smile on my face and hid my scent of sadness as best I could. We arrived in front of the Goshinboku Tree. I turned toward the tree and smiled. It has always been there from me. It has my memories, through all the times.

Everyone was there waiting for us. I smiled at Sango and Botan stopped whispering and looked over at us. Miroku was watching over Shippo and Rin as they put my make-up on Kuwabara trying to make him look nice. Maybe I should tell them�make-up only cover the little ugly things�not the big ones. I turned to see Hiei with Yusuke and Sesshomaru by himself against the house.

�Hi guys�� I said with fake happiness. No one seemed to notice it though. Hiei narrowed his eyes slightly at me, maybe he did. Yusuke came up to me and smiled.

�We got some catching up to do later.� He said. I nodded and smiled. �Glad to know I have a cousin again�� He smirked. I nodded and looked at the kids.

�Should we tell them that they can�t make him less ugly..?� I said. This got everyone to laugh�or in Sesshomaru and Hiei�s case to chuckle.

�Nah�I think the moron deserves it.� Sango said as she patted Kirara�s head.

�Yea, but I think Kagome-sama is gonna need to buy new make-up�� Miroku added as the kids finished.

�I don�t think I need it. They were Kun-Loon�s (Koon-Loun that�s the real name of Kag�s mom! I heard in on the episode after Kag helps Koga then leaves.) After all.� I said. Kurama and Hiei blinked.

�Kag�s mom.� Yusuke answered for me. I smiled and headed toward the children.

~~~Author�s POV

Sesshomaru walked over to Kagome and stood by her. �Imouto�are you alright?� He asked softly. Kagome nodded and smiled at him.

�Shippo, Rin�it�s time to go�� Kagome said. �Shippo I want you go with home with Miroku.� She added.

�Hai Mama!� Shippo ran off and jumped on Miroku�s shoulder. Kagome sighed.

�I think that�s enough for one day. Tell the others to leave�I�ll see you in school Sessho-kun.� Kagome said as she turned and walked behind the tree to the small shrine. Sesshomaru sighed and walked back to everyone. They looked up at him with questionable looks.

�Kagome wishes to rest for the night. I suggest we do as she wishes and leave.� Miroku and Sango immediately went home with Shippo and Kirara.

�I�m going to go see Keiko.� Yusuke said as he left too. Sesshomaru quietly picked up Rin and walked down the stairs after Kuwabara wandered off. After a while Hiei decided to talk.

�Hey Fox, aren�t you going to leave?� Hiei asked Kurama. Only to find him crumbled on the floor with black arrows through his stomach and shoulder. Hiei drew his sword and stood in front of Kurama, who was struggling to get up. �Come out!�

Kikyo laughed as she stepped out of the shadows. �The apparition�you cannot help either now.� She glanced up as Inuyasha fled Kagome�s bed room and landed by her.

�It is done Koishii�she will have a fever that she can�t get rid of.� Inuyasha purred as he hugged her from behind. Hiei tightened his grip on his sword. �And Kurama can barely stand�these two are too easy�� He laughed.

�Mashiro guide me�� A voice whispered as sharp, blood red freesia petal attacked Kikyo and Inuyasha.

�What the hell! How can you still be moving?� Inuyasha growled. Hiei and Kurama looked up to see Ceres standing on the roof with her hand stretched out toward the two intruders.

�Kill her!� Kikyo commanded. Inuyasha turned and raced toward Ceres.

�CERES!� Kurama cried as he tried to move forward but crumpled to the ground. Ceres glanced at Kurama as Inuyasha tried to impale her. She jumped to the side a bit too late and got cut on the side.

�Night Illusion of the White Moon�� Ceres whispered as the whole shrine area was encased in shadows.

Kurama leaned on Hiei as they stood in the darkness. Hiei glanced around trying to find something with his Jagan.

�Nothing, it�s as if nothing lived.� Hiei glanced up at Kurama, who shook his head.

�She�s only used this attack once�and nearly died by it.� He explained. �It takes a person�s own life force and creates a dark realm from the shadows of the moon. Only White Moon Foxes can do it. It can either protect, torture, or destroy.�

�Hn�� Hiei said as was about to walk forward.

�Don�t move�� Ceres voiced echoed. �It is almost over.� She said as the darkness receded. Kikyo and Inuyasha were no where to be found. She was standing in front of Hiei and Kurama.

�Ceres�� Kurama smiled before he passed out from the blood lost.

�Hiei can you get him to my room?� Ceres asked softly.

�Hmph! Of course I can.� Hiei said as he went into the house with Kurama. Ceres looked at the Goshinboku tree and smiled at it.

Thank you for calling me my friend. Ceres thought as she turned and jumped to her open window.

�Wench, we need to stop the bleeding and pull out the arrows.� Hiei said as he reached for the arrows. Ceres suddenly appeared by his side holding his wrists back. Hiei growled at her, but she remained unaffected.

�Touch these black arrows and you will be poisoned. I don�t have enough energy to heal you both.� She said. �The arrows are surrounded by miko youki and miasma. I alone will be able to pull them out.� She let go of his wrists. She crawled onto the bed and sat on Kurama�s waist.

Hiei crossed his are and glared at Ceres. She put one hand on the arrow at his stomach then one arrow at the one at his shoulder. Glowing whitish blue, the arrows slowly started to disappear. Black mist arose as the arrows disappeared. It evaporated before it even hit the ceiling.

�Hiei�get me the first aid kit. It�s under my bed.� Ceres asked weakly. Hiei just nodded and knelt down and reached under the bed. He pulled out the first aid kit and handed it to Ceres. She put it down next to her and started to lift Kurama up into a sitting position. She scooted down to his lap as Hiei helped her pick him up.

Ceres took off Kurama�s shirt (A/N: *DROOOL!!*) and checked his wounds. She and Hiei quickly wrapped his wounds before they could get infected. What Ceres didn�t notice was that Kurama wrapped his arms around her waist. Hiei shook his head and walked to the window and took a seat by it.

�I guess, you are staying too Hiei?� Ceres asked as Kurama buried his head into her chest. She blushed as he did so.

�I�m not about to trust a woman who ran away from her failure to take care of him.� Hiei replied coldly. Ceres sighed and put a hand on Kurama�s head.

�I had to run, if I fought�I could have died anyway, and all their sacrifices would be in vain.�

�Hn�� Hiei glared at her. �What if you won?�

�I had nothing left�my kit died, my friends were murdered, my hope was gone, and my faith in the one I trusted shattered. I was too angry to see clearly. I knew that�so I chose to be reborn in the time I left.� Spoke Ceres sadly.

�You could have found him�� Hiei said a bit softly, yet harshly.

�If I knew he was in this realm, I would have. His scent�and appearance are not the same.� Ceres replied in a quiet voice. Kurama nuzzled into her chest more mumbling about something.

�Never leave�stay��Gome.� Ceres closed her eyes and held Kurama tighter.

�I�m sorry, I�m so sorry�� Ceres murmured. Hiei sighed and shook his head.

�I�ll be back in the morning�� With that Hiei jumped out the window. Ceres looked down at Kurama.

�I�� Before she finished she fell forward, landing on Kurama, and reverting back to Kagome. Unknowingly to Kagome, her side was bleeding still and her body was exhausted. She was also losing energy for unknown reasons, though she didn�t know that.

~~~Kurama�s POV

I tried to find the warmth that soothed me last night. I groaned slightly as I found nothing but cold air next to me. I opened my eyes and noticed I was in a bed room that was not my own. I sniffed the air and found Kagome�s scent all over the place. I sat up and winced in pain.

�You shouldn�t get up�� A voice called.

�Hiei? What are you doing here?� I asked as I turned to the window sill.

�Watching you�� Hiei answered. I smiled at him. �The girl just left for school a few minutes ago.� I nodded and stood up, but I felt a draft. I looked down to see me in my (Ama: SEXY!) green silk boxers. I blushed and sat back down with the blanket over my lap.

�Did she undress me?� I asked. Hiei smirked and nodded. I blushed more and looked around. I spotted my clothing folded on the table. They seemed to be washed and pressed. I was amazed she would do this for me. I saw a note on top of them and read it.

Dear Kurama-kun,

I went to school this morning. I hope Hiei is there when you awake, get well soon. See you when I come home.

I narrowed my eyes and looked closer at the note. I pulled the note to my nose and sniffed it. Dropping the note, I hurriedly put my clothes on and ran outside. Hiei soon followed after closing the window.

�What�s wrong fox?� He asked.

�Blood, I smelled her blood.� I said as I raced toward the school. Hiei disappeared into trees. I ran into school, and got a late pass then headed into school. I know I wouldn�t see Kagome until later. I went to my class and sat down glaring at the teacher and the notes on the board.

�The Inu-youkai is in all of the girl�s class� Hiei said in my mind. I turned my head to the outside as the teacher gave us some free time.

�Is she alright?� I asked demandingly.

���

�Hiei, tell me�� I growled mentally at him.

�The Inu-youkai is telling her she has a fever, but she not taking any heed of it.� Hiei told me. I closed my eyes and put my head in my hands.

�It�s going to be a long day�� I murmured.

~~~Author�s POV

Kagome walked down the hall smiling. Though, it was a fake smile. It was lunch time and Kagome�s head started to hurt. She walked up to the roof and sat down by the fence. My miko powers�are not taking effect. She thought to herself. And I didn�t tell anyone I was going to the roof. Kagome didn�t have any lunch�she didn�t feel like eating. While standing up, a wave of dizziness hit her�hard. She stumbled back slightly as she put a hand to her forehead. She looked toward the doorway. It was blurry, but Kagome knew she had to go to the nurse�s office. She stumbled toward the blackness against the blurry white. She leaned on the doorway and opened the door. She wobbled through and got to the top step.

�Kagome?� Someone asked. Kagome looked down the stairs to see a black blur. She closed her eyes as another wave of dizziness hit her. Kagome felt herself pitch forward off the first step. She heard her name being called again as strong arms wrapped themselves around her shoulders and waist. The person was so cool�so soothing. She opened her eyes a bit and looked up at the person holding her.

�Hi--ei�.� Kagome whispered as her vision became a black oblivion.

Hiei felt how hot Kagome was and narrowed his eyes. He wouldn�t be able to move her long distances without adding more to the fever. He sat on the steps, grudgingly, and positioned Kagome on his lap. He closed his eyes and opened a link with Kurama.

�Oi fox, get Botan and head to the roof�s stairwell.�

�What�s wrong?� Kurama asked.

�Your wench is extremely hot, if we move her far distances she will get worse.�

�What the hell happened?!� Kurama asked as he got up from his lunch, under a tree. Hiei didn�t reply. Kurama growled silently. �Botan, I need you to come with me��

�Alright�� Botan got up and raced after Kurama. She was wondering was going on. She followed Kurama up the many flights of stairs.

�Kagome�� She heard Kurama whisper as he stopped. Botan climbed up next to Kurama. Her eyes widened.

�Oh dear lord!�

What Botan saw, was beyond her comprehension. Kagome was sweating like there was no tomorrow, her breathing was labored, and she was gripping her chest.

�We have to take her somewhere cold.� Botan said. �A bath with ice won�t do.� Hiei looked at Botan with serious eyes.

�Open a portal to the Ice Lands of Makai.� He said. �Kurama and I will take her there.�

�Alright�� Botan opened the portal behind Hiei. Kurama turned to Botan.

�Send Yukina also, maybe she will be able to help.� Kurama said as Hiei lifted Kagome up and went through the portal. Kurama soon followed before it closed.

�Oh Kagome�� Botan murmured as she went to the roof. Her oar appear, she climbed on and floated up. She speeded toward Genkai�s temple unknowingly that all their friends saw her.

�Was that Botan?� Miroku asked as he pointed to the speck that flew off the roof.

�Yeah, I wonder what�s up�� Kuwabara said. Sesshomaru sniffed the air and his eyes widened. There�s no way she can survive that�.then what�s doing alive? Sesshomaru asked himself. He calmed himself. That must be why the fox ran off with the Lady of Death. He said to himself, hoping it was true.

�Maybe we should check on what�s going on�� Yusuke droned a bit.

�No, everything will be alright.� Sesshomaru stated.

�You sure?� Miroku asked.

�Positive�� Sango said as she continued to eat.

Hiei landed softly holding Kagome to his body. Soon after Kurama appeared next to him. �Will she be alright?� The fox asked the Koorime.

�Hn�� Hiei put Kagome down on the ground and started to pile the snow on her arms. Steam rose up as he did so. �You going to help save your wench?� Kurama glared at Hiei slightly then kneeled down and started to pile snow on top of Kagome. Not too soon after, Kagome turned into Ceres. She stirred and opened her eyes slightly.

�What�are you�doing?� She asked them. Kurama stopped and looked at Ceres.

�Kagome��

�She is indisposed�� Ceres murmured.

�What is this fever?� Hiei asked as he continued to put snow on top of her.

�A poison�there is nothing you can do but let it flow from our body.� She informed.

�But most of your blood is infected.� Kurama insisted.

�Nothing else we can do. You have to let the blood bleed.� She said. Kurama closed his eyes in thought.

�Hiei�draw your sword and do as she says.� Kurama spoke as he lifted her out of the snow. He set her head on his lap and started to rub her ears. �Where must he cut?� Hiei drew his sword with a impassive look on his face.

�Anywhere, where the blood flows most�� She whispered. Hiei nodded and silently cut her wrists. In an after thought he cut her stomach also. She winced with each cut but didn�t say anything.

For 30 minutes Hiei and Kurama watched as the white snow turned red. �Fox, we need to get blood into her or she�ll die.� Hiei looked up to see Youko sitting there cutting his wrist. He put his wrist to her lips.

�Drink�� She didn�t respond to his command. He said it again in fox language. She started to suck as his wrist taking in the blood. Youko raised her wrist to his face and sniffed her blood. �The poison is gone�� Youko licked her wrist and sealed the cut. Hiei nodded and stood up as a portal opened in front of them.

�Oh my!� Yukina said as she stepped out of the portal with Botan behind her.

�Yukina�� Hiei whispered. Youko paid no mind to them. He picked up Ceres� other wrist. Sealing the wound with his tongue, Youko looked at her. She was now sucking his blood greedily. He smiled and lifted her up in his arms.

�Yukina�� He beckoned her over. Yukina slowly approached Youko.

�Hai?� She asked quietly.

�Heal her stomach�� Youko commanded. Yukina nodded and held her hands over Ceres� stomach and healed her. �Thank you�� Yukina nodded.

�We should get back�� Botan said.

�You go on�I must attend some other things.� Youko said and vanished in a blur.

�Should we follow them?� Botan asked. Hiei and Yukina both shook their heads. Both had smelt Youko�s emotions radiating off him. It was best to leave the two alone�for now.
