Choices Unmade
Chapter 3
"Why are you following them?" the small guy snapped, leaning Kagome a
little farther over the edge. Kagome looked down and then back at the boy
in front of her.
"Please, let me go..." Kagome whispered desperately.
"Hiei, let her go," a calm voice behind the boy sighed. Kagome glanced back
at the boy and felt her heartbeat speed up. Another demon, a cute demon,
but another one none the less.
"She's heard to much," Hiei snarled. The boy shook his head exasperatedly.
"You should be careful whom you threaten Hiei, that girl you've got's a
miko, a weak one, but a miko," they boy behind her said in a quiet warning.
"Too weak to hurt me," Hiei snarled. The other boy looked over at her and
their eye's locked for just a moment. Kagome suddenly felt oddly calm. She
looked back at Hiei.
"You should listen to your kitsune friend demon," both Hiei and the other
boy seemed shocked. Hiei smiled.
"Is that a threat, human," Hiei sneered. Kagome raised an eyebrow at his
pitiful attempt to scare her.
"My names Kagome. Ka-go-me! And yes, it is a threat," Kagome squeezed his
wrist and she felt her palm grow warm. She felt her power burning his skin.
Hiei threw her behind him and grasped his wrist. Kagome stopped herself from
hitting Hiei's companion and ran back to where she had climbed up. She
glanced back in time to see the red head friend of Hiei's to stop him from
chasing her.
"Don't stop me Kurama," Hiei snarled. Kurama didn't flinch.
"We have more important things to deal with Hiei," both of the demons jumped
to follow the other boys into a warehouse. Kagome was surprised to find
Kurama send her a kind smile before he disappeared in the warehouse.
~*~*~* End Flashback*~*~*~
Kagome had forgotten about that entire demon meeting and found that she had
stopped feet from the well to think it over. How come I was able to control
my power then? She couldn't help but remember Crimea's green eyes. Why did
just one look have such an effect on me? Is it something about his demon
blood? Kagome's thought's were interrupted when InuYasha landed in front of
her. Kagome was suddenly afraid of the look on his face. He didn't just
look angry, he looked furious! His eye's were tinged slightly red and his
claws were a little longer.
"Did you realize how much you could have hurt Kikyo with that last sit you
used on me, wench?" A twinge of pain hit her heart that he wasn't saying
sorry for her overhearing his little insults, "You could have fucking
killed her!" Kagome was no longer afraid. She was almost as angry as he
was.
"What, like she wouldn't have done it by herself anyway? Don't tell me
you've forgotten her vacation plans to hell already?" She saw InuYasha's
eyes get redder, and his claws grow slightly, "I'm going home, InuYasha.
I'll be gone for a couple of..."
"The hell you are wench! I'm not finished with you!" Kagome had had enough.
"I don't have time for this! SIT SIT SIT SIT SIT SIT SIT SIT SIT SIT
SIT..." Kagome took a deep breath, "SIT SIT SIT SIT!" InuYasha was
officially knocked out. He would obviously be out of it for a while. Kagome
smiled and rode around him, then slowly pulled her bike down the well and
to her time.
The next morning Kagome surprised her family by coming out of her room
around noon.
"Kagome, weren't you in the warring states era last night?"
