Choices Unmade

Chapter 2

Kagome sighed, if he does find me, Kagome smiled cruelly, well lets just say, he'll find himself six feet under. Kagome tried to remember something less intriguing then burying InuYasha and came to the thought of how she could train in her world. She remembered something about two years before.

~*~*~* Flashback*~*~*~

Kagome had just gotten back from her second adventure down the well. She was busily burring her nose in a book when the familiar sensation of a demon around caught her attention. Her head jerked up, her eyes scanned the school grounds carefully. This wasn't her school, it was the school across town that was supposed to have a couple of gangs hanging around, so she didn't recognize anything.

Trusting her instincts to get to higher ground, she put her book away and set her backpack down by the side of the wall. Kagome grabbed on to the drainpipe and studied her surroundings to make sure no one was watching and began to climb up. It took her awhile, considering she was still soar from that whole 'being held captive by the thunder brothers' thing. But when she did get up, she again tried to find the demon she had sensed before. It should be on the opposite side of the building.

Kagome began to walk as quietly as she could toward where she assumed it was and kept all her senses at full alert. Why am I doing this? Kagome began to ask herself I can't fight a demon alone! I should see if InuYasha will come help... No, I can't sense any shards so I doubt he'd come anyway. Kagome felt slightly put down at her discovery, but threw that thought aside when she got to the lip of the building again. Where's the demon??? She was about to turn and leave but there was a sudden blue light flashing in the ally below her. Kagome laid down and cautiously peered over the side.

Kagome looked in time to see the last of the blue light fade and to boys in blue uniform stood were the lights had seemed to come from. Five other boys were laying unconscious before them. They each looked slightly pale and very sick.

"So, that's what you learned at Genkai's!" The tallest of the boys spoke. His orange hair seemed to strangely match the blue uniform, "Wow, that's like a whole bunch of spirit guns!"

"Well dah, that's why it's called shotgun," his smaller companion responded boardly. Suddenly a girl with blue hair appeared beside the fallen boys.

"Hey Boton," the shorter one sighed.

"Hey Yuske," the girl replied with a strange amount of optimism. Kagome watched as a flying bug crawled from one of the unconscious boys mouths. Kagome had to keep herself from throwing up. The tall boy had the same reaction and 'Boton' went into a detailed description of what the bugs were, something like saint beats, and then something about the demon world. Kagome suddenly realized that must be where all the demons went after the feudal era.

When Boton finished saying something that sounded pretty gloomy to Yuske she walked off, motioning for them to follow. Kagome found herself following and listening intently on what they had to say.

"Is the demon world the same place we went to try to become Genkai's pupil?" Kuwabara asked after a few minutes.

"No, that's just a piece of forest here on earth that's basically hidden," Yuske replied.

"You mean the demon worlds on another planet!" Yuske rolled his eyes and gave a sideways glance at the taller boy.

"You idiot, and I thought you would understand this by now," Yuske smirked, "I guess it was stupid of me to expect you to be smart on any subject." Kuwabara went into a stream of threats that made Kagome flinch. She found it slightly amusing that Kuwabara didn't seem to realize Yuske wasn't taking him seriously.

"Okay, okay," Yuske finally gave up. Sighing, he began to explain the difference, "See, Genkai's shrine is in it's own dimension that's connected to earth in a way that only those with spiritual energy can see let along get into. The demon world is it's own dimension that sorta has a doorway to Genkai's realm, they can't get out of it into our world though, and no one in this world can go into theirs either 'cause..." Kagome never heard the rest. She had been pulled to her feet and held next to the edge of the roof in a rather dangerous position by an astonishingly small black and white haired boy. She suddenly remembered the demon aura she had sensed earlier and mentally kicked herself for not paying more attention.
