In The Vinyards Of Peace

Once,
Long ago,
I thought I heard your voice travel
Lovingly and gently so
As though the world could unravel
Your words caressing the fields of my dreams
And I thought I caught a glimpse of your face
The phantom of your shadow through the streams
That ancient trace
Forever haunting me
I reached out to touch your grace
Hoping you would not flee
In the vineyards of peace
I reached out to touch you

You were once home with me
I was once home
And we were free
No thing was so unknown
But like the breath of sky
You vanished beyond the river's way
And though I drew neigh
You were hidden so far away
In the vineyards of peace
I reached out to touch you

That I had lost you
Wounded my heart deeply
The descent of mourning did ensue
And the world moved on from me
O' love of my life return
I long still for you
One day return to me, return
To what we once knew
In the vineyards of peace
I reached out to touch you

But you are no longer there
No longer there
In the vineyards of peace
I reached out to touch you
...So long ago

Sleep Comes Not

Sleep comes not
In narrow mazed halls
The gloom of darkness
Distortions play on walls
Seeming endless
Heavy draperies of fear
Worn cords of paranoia
Nothing safe near

Sleep comes not
What terrors of night
The way out no longer sought
The unknown in shadows seem to fight
And the stealth unseen
Always haunting
An endless nightmare dream

Sleep comes not
Shines the moon through glass
As slowly she charts the sky so
Winds sway reverent tall grass
The only light I know

Sleep comes not
Not tonight
The way out no longer sought
There is only this light

If I could escape this place
This Trap of Shame
I would not fear this face
Some things always remain
Narrow halls
Place of hidding
Silent walls
Longing madness unwinding

Sleep comes not

A Thousand Screams

Hair falls gently
As though in mourning
Carressing the Blade so
Sun rises bold
Blade bright
Hair Glistens
A thousand screams
Silence, a calm
Falls a single strand

House Contained

The halls were dark
The Gloom heavy and menacing
Passing figures stark
Those empty things void and missing
The skies broke open with thundering light
Flashing through window's transparency
Horror pursueing every flight
Relentless and towering eminently

The sun will fill the night
To descend moon's perpetual passing
And shadows again will take flight
Edging over a ladder of stairs cascading
The house flexing to moan
In appearance of self-containment with calm
Until again in twilight alone
Her tragedy to carry on
