I have no clue what happened last night. I was fine one minute than something made me mad. But I don’t know why!
I rolled out of bed and turned on the radio. Just my luck 5ive was on. I hoped that Abs would still want to see me. I really liked him, but I was kinda temperamental sometimes.
Well I got ready for the day and headed into the kitchen. Addie and Kelly were up eating cereal and watching TRL. “Hello kids.” I said as I walked in.
“Well hello there, Ms. I-like-to-blow-up-at-people-for-no-apparent reason.” Addie said.
“Shut-up you psycho. Why are you two watching TRL? You hate this show Addie.”
“Yeah, but she wants me to see this guy Sean she met last night. She thinks I would like him.” Kelly explained.
“She so would! Oh look I think they just said something about 5ive.” Addie pointed at the screen. Sure enough 5ive’s latest video was number one. We watched it with Addie making commentary on J the entire time. “He so cannot dance!!! Look at him! He looks like he has to go to the bathroom! And black is so not his color!” Addie was having fun making fun of J. But she made sure to point Sean out to Kelly.
“Addie, what is your problem with J?” Kelly asked her.
“Well, he’s got a big ego. He’s a jerk. He has absolutely no manners.....” the list went on and on.
“Addie, you’re crazy. So do you think Abs will call? Or should I go visit him?”
Addie stood up and put her arm around my shoulder. “Lori sweetie, if he doesn’t call, he’s just another guy. So don’t sweat it. Besides we gotta go work. Dangit is tonight Saturday? If it is that means I gotta go have dinner with daddy and stepmum number 5. I really hate that woman...” Addie walked out of the room mumbling various things about her stepmum.
Kelly then told me to cheer up and if Abs didn’t call he wasn’t worth it. I guess the two were right so I just decided to eat breakfast then head for work.
~Addie~
It was Saturday! Every Saturday night my dad made me go out to eat with him and his current wife. He was on his seventh wife right now. Lucky for me, I was the only child. And he actually liked my mother. I think they would have stayed married if she hadn’t died. I don’t think daddy ever recovered after mum died. And I think that’s why he’s like he is now.
I talked to my grandparents (his parents) and my aunts and uncles. They say that he absolutely cherished my mother. I think the women he marries now is just to keep him company. I know that sounds bad, but its the truth. My mum died and I moved out so he’s all alone. And he really does need somebody.
Anyway enough about my daddy. I got ready to go to work then left with Lori. I cheered her up about leaving last night by telling her my awful stories about my stepmum. She was only like 8 years older than me. Kinda funny if you ask me.
“Yeah, I think they’ll get a divorce soon. Sherrie is such an airhead! She giggles incessantly and won’t shutup! And she snorts when she laughs!”
“Hey, I snort sometimes when I laugh!” Addie protested.
“True, but you’re not some skanky 28 year old who marries old men. I mean what does she see in my daddy? My daddy? She just needs to get that through her head. He’s my daddy!” I slapped my steering wheel and quickly turned into the parking lot of our restaurant.

I decided to take J’s advice and go visit Lori at her work.Lucky for me he remembered which restaurant it was. I walked inside and noticed Addie waiting on some tables. I looked around and didn’t see Lori anywhere. I walked up behind her and said that J was in the building.
“Geez abs just give me a heartattack!” Addie told me after she got over the initial shock. “You here to see Lori?”
“Yep. You think it’s a good idea? Um, by the way where is she?”
“Well it is a good idea, but for the current moment she’s in our boss’ office. He didn’t like the way she treated some customers.” I began laughing. I could just imagine what Lori was capable of considering what she was doing the first time I met her.
“What happened?” I sat down at a table and Addie pretended to wait on me.
“Well her ex-boyfriend Dave comes in with this big tart. So anyways he’s all giving her lip so Lori gives some back. Then she ‘accidently’ spilt their soup and coffee all over them. So Dave complained and Lori got in trouble. But don’t worry she’ll be fine. She can talk her way out of anything. Like the time when we shot out windows...uh nevermind. So what do you want?”
~Lori~
I sat in my boss’ office listening to him babble on about how I was supposed to be nice to the patron.
“Blah blah blah blah blah....” I wonder what Abs is doing? I really hope that we can work things out alright. It was just a big joke last night. I promise.
“Are you done yet?” I asked my boss. I really did have a big mouth.
“Yes, you can go now. But I want you to take the day off to calm down. You have quite a temper sometimes.” My boss told me. I couldn’t believe it! All I had to do to get a day off of work was to throw some soup on my ex boyfriend.
I walked out of the office all smiles. I grinned at Addie. “I got the day off!” I squealed.
“Ugh! That’s so not fair!” Addie exclaimed.
“Yeah it is. Anyways can I drive your car home? I don’t wanna call Kelly.”
“Uh no. Go look in that booth over there.” Addie pointed to a booth in the back of the restaurant. I walked over there and noticed a familiar pair of hands sitting on the table.
“Abs? What are you doing here?” I sat down across from him quite surprised to see him.
“I just wanted to see how you were. I don’t know what I did last night, but I’m really sorry. I never meant to hurt you or anything...” I started laughing silently in my head as Abs continued to apologize. He didn’t do anything. It was all me! “Abs, it’s okay. I’m over it. Now let’s go and have some fun.” I grabbed his arm and pulled him out the door. “How bout some mauling by my sister? Or should we go get Ritch and bring him over? Oh this sounds like SO much fun.”
