Holly watched him across the room. She slowly sipped her drink and saw him talk with his friends. There was no doubt about it, that lad was attractive. "Watcha doing?" Her friend Audrey came up and asked her.
"Watching him." Holly pointed across the room at her "lad". Tall, blonde spikey hair, nice body, great smile, eyebrow ring, no doubt about it she wanted him. "Do you know him?"
"No, but I can find out. Be right back." And off Audrey went to find out the name of Holly's mystery man. If there was one person Holly could count on it was Audrey. The two had been best friends for as long as she could remember. They'd met in kindergarten. It was Holly's first day and Audrey reached out to her. She'd always been the social butterfly while Holly was the complete opposite. Holly had always been shy. She didn't need to be outgoing with Audrey around. She watched as Audrey "networked". She moved from one person to the next asking questions, finding out what she needed then moving on to the next person.
Holly smiled to herself, that's one of the reasons Audrey was such a good agent/manager. Audrey knew everybody. She made sure Holly got the best modeling jobs and any other job she wanted. No one could say no to Audrey Davis. A few minutes later Audrey returned.
"His name's Jason Brown, or J for short. He was in that boyband Five but they just recently broke up. Now he's not really doing much but wants to get into charity work and such. He's currently dating Sara Warr, but according to a reliable source things might not work out and the fire is beginning to die out. He lives here in London. He likes extreme sports, football, playstation, drinking and other typical lad activities. He has an older sister, a mum, a dad. Anything else you'd like to know?"
Holly laughed. How could one person get that much information in such a short space of time? "Isn't Sara Warr a tv presenter or something?" Audrey nodded her head. "So how am I supposed to meet him? What's my plan of attack?" Audrey smiled her sly smile.
"Leave that to me. You stay here and I'll be right back." Holly watched as Audrey confidantly strode across the room towards J.
"Hey J, isn't that Holly Smith?" Sean pointed across the room. J looked across the room at a blonde girl talking to a few other people. She looked a bit uncomfortable like she didn't want to be there.
"Who?" J asked.
"Holly Smith. The model." Both boys turned around at the sound of a woman's voice. "Hi, Audrey Davis." She held out her hand and both lads shook it.
"I'm Sean and this is J." Sean introduced the two. "So were you listening in on our conversation?" Audrey laughed.
"Well I was walking by and heard my best friend's name and couldn't just keep on walking now could I?"
"No I suppose not." Sean responded. The three struck up a conversation about nothing inparticular. By then J's girlfriend Sara had joined in as well. Holly watched Audrey work her magic. She then saw Holly give the signal to come on over. Audrey began her walk across the room. "Audrey, I've been looking all over for you." She said as she approached the group. The two girls had developed a system long ago for meeting people and such.
"Well Holly, I would have been over much sooner, but I over heard these two talking about you. So of course I had to stop and plug my favorite model."
"Of course." Audrey then introduced everyone to Holly and vice versa.
"So you're a model?" Sara asked Holly skeptically. There was something about Holly Smith that sara did not like. The same thing that made most girls with boyfriends dislike Holly. "Yes, for a few years now. What do you do?" She asked politely. The conversation carried on until Holly noticed the time on J's watch.
"I really hate to cut this short but I'm going to have to go." Holly said. Audrey looked at her as if to say, 'what're you doing psycho?'. "I'm moving tomorrow and I haven't finished packing yet. Nice to meet all of you." They all said goodbye and then Holly left. Audrey decided to stick around and tie up some loose ends.
"Um, you can put that right over there." Holly pointed to a space on the floor for the movers to place her last box. It had taken all day, but it was finished. "Thanks so much." She told the movers as they left. She shut her door behind them and sighed. After resting for a brief moment she moved towards the kitchen to start going through the many boxes that were in there.
"Holly, why don't you just have someone put this all away for you?" Audrey asked her as Holly entered the kitchen.
"I don't want some weirdo putting all my things away. Think of what they could say to the tabloids, 'Holly Smith: Exposed'. No thank you. I think I'll stick with you and me." She replied.
"How do I know I won't sell you out to the tabloids?" Audrey smirked. Holly rolled her eyes and opened the first box."It was just an idea. Think about how much money we could make. We could do it anonymously then go on a trip or something. What do you think?"
"I think you've gone mental. Now if you really wanted to help you could go get us some dinner. I'm starving." After the two had decided what they wanted Audrey grabbed her bag and opened the door only to find someone out there.
"AHHHHH!!!!!!" She screamed in surprise. The other person screamed back. She then realized who it was. "J? What're you doing here?"
"Audrey, hi. Did you just move in here?"
"No. This is Holly's flat. Again, what're you doing here?" J then held out a small basket filled with food.
"I came to greet the new tenant. I live across the hall." Audrey nodded her head.
"I thought you were going to get me food." Holly yelled at Audrey as she entered the hallway, "I'm hungry. I don't pay you to stand around-" Holly stopped her yelling when she noticed they weren't alone. "Oh, hi." Her face flushed red. She was always doing this to herself, talking and making a fool out of her self.
"Holly, J lives across the hall and stopped by to welcome you to the building. Here he brought a basket." Audrey took the basket from J and handed it to Holly. Holly smiled weakly and told J thanks. "Well, J, if you're not doing anything how about staying and keeping Holly company while I make a food run. And if you're not busy after that you can stay and eat with us. My treat." Audrey flashed him one of her winning smiles. J smiled.
"I'd love to stay. If that's alright with you Holly?"
"Huh? Uh, yeah sure that's fine." She'd been a tad bit dazed after hearing J lived across the hall from her. Audrey then said her goodbye's and dashed out the door grinning to herself the entire time.
After she left an awkward silence filled the room. "So, uh, do you like living here?" Holly asked J as she moved into the kitchen and he followed.
"Yeah. It's nice. Why'd you decide to move here."
"Audrey. She said I HAD to live here. So I moved here. I guess I better get this kitchen in a somewhat normal order if we have to eat." She went back to the box she was working on and pulled out some dishes.
"I'll help. What do you want me to do?" J offered. Holly pointed him towards a box and told him to put the contents anywhere he liked.
"So what do you do now, since you're not in Five?" Holly asked him a few minutes later. She really didn't know what else to say. She hated being around people she didn't know, she never had any idea what to say.
"Not much right now. I haven't really decided what I want to do next. I definately don't want to go back into showbusiness though." The two continued their conversation about fame and such until Holly came back with their food. By then the kitchen was almost put together.
