HERE ARE TWO VIEWS OF THE CHASSIS AFTER REPLACING THE ELECTROLYTICS.  THE REPLACEMENTS WOULD NOT FIT IN THE CANS.  AS YOU CAN SEE IN THE CLOSEUP, I HAD TO DOUBLE UP CAPS TO GET THE RIGHT VALUES.   ONE OF THE REPLACEMENTS IS ON THE SWEEP BOARD.

  I'LL POST MORE WHEN THE RESTORATION IS COMPLETE.  I AM STILL UNDECIDED ABOUT WHICH CABINET I WANT TO USE.  IF THE RAIN DAMAGED ONE CAN BE REFINISHED, I'LL USE THAT ONE.  IF THAT'S WHAT I DECIDE TO DO, BOTH CABINETS WILL BE PICTURED HERE. 
HERE IS A SCREEN SHOT AFTER PUTTING THE CHASSIS BACK ON THE ROUND TUBE.  I FOUND YET MORE BAD CONNECTIONS.  THIS IS BEFORE I DISCOVERED IT.  I WAS WONDERING WHY BLUE WAS SO DOMINANT.  I FOUND OUT WHY.  ONE OF THE CONNECTIONS GOING TO THE CRT SOCKET HAD DETERIORATED.  I FIXED IT RIGHT.  THE TUNER IS ATTACHED TO THE SPECIAL SERVICE MOUNT ON THE CHASSIS.
HERE IS A SHOT AFTER I REPAIRED THE CONNECTION.  AS YOU CAN SEE, THERE ARE SOME PURITY AND CONVERGENCE ISSUES THAT STILL NEED RESOLVED.  THE PICTURE IS CROOKED SINCE I DID NOT PUT MY CAMERA ON THE TRIPOD FOR THE SHOT.  THIS WAS JUST A QUICKIE.  THIS SET IS NEAR COMPLETE.  I HAVE A SECOND BEZEL.  I WILL NEED THE SCREWS FOR THE TUNER MOUNTING. 
THE TERMINAL MOUNT ON ONE OF THE LOUDSPEAKERS CAME LOOSE.  A RIVET WAS BAD.  I WAS ABLE TO REPAIR IT. 

  RCA VICTOR SETS FROM THIS ERA WERE NOTORIOUS FOR BAD PRINTED CIRCUIT BOARDS.  THIS SET WAS NO EXCEPTION.  ON THE CHROMA BOARD, I RESOLDERED MORE JOINTS THAN I CARED TO COUNT.  SOME OF THE FOIL TRACES WERE SO BAD THAT I HAD TO HARDWIRE THEM. 

  I REPLACED A FEW CAPS AND SOME HIGH VALUE RESISTORS IN THE VERTICAL SECTION.  THE ACTUAL CULPRIT WAS A VOLTAGE DEPENDANT RESISTOR.  I REMOVED IT FROM CIRCUIT AND THAT SOLVED THE VERTICAL LINEARITY PROBLEM I HAD.  I NEED TO SEE IF THERE IS A SUITABLE REPLACEMENT.  RCA PUT IT THERE FOR A REASON.  THIS RESISTOR WAS ACTING LIKE A BAD CAP.
