Background:
Hiruma Oyumi is the adopted daughter of a minor Samurai family in the Empire of Namidano. When Oyumi was very young, perhaps the youngest of a litter of cat hengyokai, her family was attacked by a raiding party of hobgoblins. She managed to hide from the brutes, but had nowhere to run and was forced to watch her family be slaughtered. After the hobgoblins went on their way, Oyumi took her cat form, and was found by a Samurai. She followed him, and he decided to take her with him, considering Oyumi to be a sign of good fortune sent by his ancestors. Much to his surprise, the first night Oyumi spent in his camp, she took her hybrid cat form, and the samurai was instantly taken with the child, and decided to raise her as his own. He trained her in the ways of the samurai, but Oyumi was always drawn to the outdoors, and thus she learned the skills needed for wilderness survival. She hates hobgoblins, and will kill them on sight, to the best of her ability, but otherwise she is slow to anger, impressionable, and naive. Oyumi is currently in the service of Lord Matsumoto of the city of Aru.
