Rain falls on the once fair kingdom of Rohan. The White Hand of Saruman waves above Helms Deep as the last of the Rohhirim are slaughtered in their valiant, but futile, charge to the army of Saruman. The scent of defiled bodies, mangled and diseased, is floating about the air. Uruk-hai screams of victory are heard all about the deep. The orc commander begins to lead the march back to Isengard. This is the way it is done. No capturing, no pirating, just destruction and annihilation. As the Uruk army is mustered out, seventeen bezerker uruk-hai run into the fortress. Each is carrying Â1&Mac218;4 ton of bomb powder. One is carrying a torchâ¤&Mac186;
The last of the uruk-hai march over the mountain, and all of them hear the massive explosion. The warg commander bringing up the rear risks one last glance at the smoldering wreckage of the once stout fortress of Helms Deep. All of the orcs are put in a good mood because of their victory in Rohan. The mood soon changes when Isengard comes into viewâ¤&Mac186;
Screams are heard from below, and Saruman the White knows his reign of power will shortly be over. The _expression on his face is equal to that of a man on a sinking ship. Isengard is completely flooded to the last chamber. However, the walls of Orthanc are impenetrable. The Ents, walking, talking, breathing trees have heroically marched against the stronghold of Isengard. With the bulk of Saruman's army fighting at Helms Deep, the Ents had an all too easy time breaching the walls of Isengard. Once in, it was already over.
The Ents broke the dam, and released the River Isen onto the fort. History books later called it 'The Cleansing of Isengard'. As the Uruks returning from Helms Deep came over the hill, they were awestruck at the devastation that some unknown army had unleashed upon their home. The army of Saruman dared not go any closer to the ruined stronghold. They fledâ¤&Mac186;only to be ambushed by Ents in Fangorn forest and murdered, no survivors.
