Drizzt's one and only trustworthy companion, Guenhwyvar.
Back
Guenhwyvar was obtained by Drizzt in the first book of the Dark Elf Trilogy.  His master, Masoj Hun'ett was like any other Drow master; mean, cruel, and you were only there to do his biddings.  But Dinin saw the companionship and "love" between Guenhwyvar and his younger brother, so he ordered Masoj Hun'ett that every time they went on patrol, Guenhwyvar would stay by Drizzt's side.  They soon became good friends and before they knew it, they were more than friends, they were one small extremely strong force.  Masoj desided later on that he would defeat Drizzt for Matron Hun'ett (I know that she has her OWN name but I can only remember Shi'nayne).  After he had already failed his first attempt at killing Drizzt, he started on his second plan:  To kill Drizzt using his magical panther, Guenhwyvar.  Althouh Guenhwyvar could not resist the magical demands of his master, his love and companionship of Drizzt was far greater.  Guenhwyvar fought the commands of his master and was freed from Masoj's grasp by Drizzt.  After so, they continue to reach farer and more complex hights within their companionship.  Guenhwyvar faces the fear of loosing the bit of Drizzt's insanity and Drizzt fears loosing Guenhwyvar.  A great story to tell between the two.  = )
