Misraim
The first encounter with Misraim occured during the first trip to Draughtonville. First Stever encountered him in the Lutheran Church on the hill. When Stever touched him, Stever was burnt badly. Later on in the same trip, the group sought refuge in the church and spoke to Misraim, although no one else saw him at this time. It turned out that Emily had a ring which was one of the keys to Tolnoth's locks. Misraim wanted it back, but the group decided that might not be a good idea. They left soon after. After the Port Penn incident, Stever was "summoned" by Misraim and took off back to Draughtonville. Much later, when Reggie and Emily were using the compass (after meeting Adriel in Lansing), they somehow contacted Misraim. He wrote on the wall "Return to Draughtonville". The group did, and when they arrived, they found that there was construction going on. Later, Emily and Reggie went to the church, and found things greatly changed. There were large numbers of workers busy researching things, and Stever seemed to be overseeing them. They met up with Misraim face-to-face , and Emily gave him back the ring. He gives them gifts in return. When Emily's fingers brush his hand, she was suprised to find that they were amazingly cold. Later, when the rest of the group was meeting with Rebeccah, Emily and Reggie saw Misraim leave town in a black limo accompanied by armed guards. After some more time passes, the group learns from Axis that Misraim has begun a company called Babeltech. He plans to use modern technology to translate languages and/or take over humanity. The group decided that they couldn't risk Misraim gaining mind control over the world, and set out to destroy him. He had built a giant communications tower at the 45th parallel in Northern Michigan, and the group decided to destroy the tower when Misraim would be occupied inside. They took down the tower and hoped that Misraim was also gone for good. Alas, the group was not so lucky. Thanks to Rebeccah's scheming, the group went back to draughtonville to try and stop the release of Tolnoth. They were too late. While the rest of the group were dealing with various terrors, Elizabeth ran to the church on the hill (which was now destroyed.) There was a large golden sword which Misraim seemed to have left behing, and Elizabeth prayed over this to Misraim, to try and gain his help. She got no answer, but Thomas got results by grabbing the sword and hacking at Tolnoth's tentacles. The group left Draughtonville in posession of the sword. A few days later, back in Lansing, Thomas was invited to go to a haunted house that Victoria Vandermullen had just purchased. Thomas had the rest of the group brought along, and they walked into the house to find Misraim, and an entourage of soldiers. They also had Magda and Steever tied up over the pit. With the incentive of their falling comrades, Misraim forced the group into a large seemingly bottomless pit in the floor. He then left to do battle with Tolnoth.

"And I saw an angel coming down out of heaven, having the key to the Abyss and holding in his hand a great chain. He seized the dragon, that ancient serpent, who is the devil, or Satan, and bound him for a thousand years. He threw him into the Abyss, and locked and sealed it over him, to keep him from deceiving the nations anymore until the thousand years were ended." - Rev. 20:1-3

Biblically, Misraim is the son of Ham, and the grandson of Noah. His descendants are the people of Egypt. Some sources credit him with having taught magic to the Egyptians. Of the Generations of Noah (second paragraph) The Melchizedek Bible (specifically lines 6 and 13-14) Koftim (descendant of Misraim) Some Groups have tried to place the Biblical Misraim into Egyptian history, and have found several Pharoahs which may have been the "Real Misraim." The writer Hargrave Jennings dates the "foundation of the Egyptian monarchy by Misraim, the son of Ham" to 2118 B.C. Living in Truth (a lot to sift through, but worthy of your time. Believes Misraim to be Gilgamesh.) The Builders of the Pyramid (about Ham, father of Misraim) Land of the Pyramids (only the first 5 or 6 deal with Misraim) Maker of Investigations (warning: tends to ramble) Freemasons also have used Misraim's name, most notably in the sects which practice the Egyptian Rite (also called the Rite of Memphis-Misraim). These sects have spawned the Ordo Templi Orientis and the Thelemites. The Meaning of the Ancient Rite of Memphis-Misraim Memphis-Misraim
