Dr. Joseph Sumpter is/was a professor of Anthropology at Michigan State. He specialized in Pre-dynastic Egyptian society. A bit absent-minded and decidedly bookish, the middle-aged Joseph was still friendly, and most of the students found him aproachable.
While he was teaching at Michigan State, he met Emily Matthews, and after she graduated they began dating. Shortly before the first Draughtonville incident, they were engaged.
It was during the Port Penn excursion that the unfortunate accident occured. Joseph was "possesed" by one of the spirits connected to Ambrose Leighe. The "Evil Around Us" Group were able to rescue him and reunite body and soul, albeit two years later.
After undergoing treatment at Sleepy Lawn with Dr. Agnes Minor, Joseph is active once more. He has been seen in the company of Axis, and it is assumed that they have joined forces. |
