| The Evil Dead On Dvd |
Finally, the version of Evil Dead every Uk fan has been waiting for. The Evil Dead - Full UNCUT version. But does it make it worth buying? Audio / Picture Quality: Shown in 1.85:1 specs, despite what everyone says, the picture quality is fairly good but screen size varies on what you watch it on. On the Pc, i found it to sized fairly good. On my friends PS2, the screen looked stretched a bit. The Film itself has stood the test of time. With the occasionly black spot and white crackle, but those are down to the film itself. You can also spot this in the VHS version. Given the superb choice of listening in 5.1 Dolby surround or Digital Dolby 6.1 DTS-ES I have no clue what that means, all i know is that the sound has been cleared up quite abit, and i think they added some new WOOSH noises in as well. Don't quote me on that. The down side is that some scenes, the sound seems to fade away and become a bit fuzzy. Although it happens only once or twice, it leaves you feeling like your missing some major dilogue. |
| Special Features This Dvd has no subtitles or dubbed lanuage, and i the only one who thinks it would be funny watchin Ash speak Japanesse? But there are Two things that make this Dvd very special, apart from the movie itself Audio Commentary Track with Director Sam Rami and Producer Rob Tapert Audio Commentary Track with Star Bruce Campbell Both tracks are great fun to listen too and gives lots of insight into the movie. Sam and Rob tend to talk more bout the productive side, with camera angles etc. Bruce gives more a comedy running of the movie. With the occasion dig at his acting and the movie itself, all in good fun. He made me laugh a couple of times e.g In the scene where Ash gives Linda the necklace, Bruce replies with ' You'd only give your girlfriends something that crap if you didn't really like her' Plus a small photo gallery, Still shots from the movie Classic. There is also the U.S Movie trailer but everybodys seen that right? The Restored version- Is it worth the wait? NOW!, the main course. With alot of stuff to cover i will make it short. Evil Dead is brought to a new darker level, when you watch the uncut scenes. As many keys moments were cut to the gore factor. Its a treat seeing the full version of the film as it adds alot of depth to the film itself. Although there are always those Scenes which stand out The Vine Rape The Axe scene were Shelly gets cut up The meltdown scene But now the movie is Top Notch and highly reccomened. Its's rumoured that this is a first in a Uk Box set. With Evil Dead II being realised sometome between Oct-Dec we in the uk can only hope. |
