Pathway(s)
An option for students who have had problems due to things they could not control (family deaths, traumatising accidents, etc.), obligations to family (working part-time to help out the family financially, etc.), obligations to the school or a particular sport (extra curricular activities, several MDP's, tennis training, etc.), among other things that may hinder the success or potential of a student in High School.
This is a three year course (year 11, 12 + extra year 12) as opposed to the usual two (year 11 & 12). Students can choose to complete a set amount of subjects for the HSC in year 12 one year and complete the remainder in year 12, the year after. E.g. Doing the minimum 10 units for the HSC and an UAI. Completing 4 units (courses and their HSC) for those subjects for year one of year 12. Year two of year 12 compromises of completing the remainding 6 units (course and HSC). At the end of the second year, HSC marks from both years are calculated for a UAI mark.
